Spawn Resurfaces

During a Facebook Live with Kevin Smith aboard the IMDboat at Comic-Con 2017, comic-book creator Todd McFarlane dropped an exclusive: He's working with producer Jason Blum on a new Spawn movie. What's better: McFarlane has a draft of the script ready to go. He'll be making his directorial debut on the project, which will certainly be a hard-R vision of his former mercenary turned reluctant soldier of the devil.

Stargate Returns to the Air

Heading into production this August is "Stargate Origins," a continuation of the beloved sci-fi franchise. It will come to life as 10-minute episodes that follow the early adventures of Catherine Langford. One caveat: The episodes will be exclusive to a new subscription-based platform called Stargate Command.

Warner Bros. Reveals Its Comic-Con Lineup

Warner Bros. has revealed its full lineup for the star-studded Comic-Con panel including Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One, Blade Runner 2049, Justice League, as well as an early look at Aquaman. Chris Hardwick will once again moderate the panel with confirmed guests including Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Steven Spielberg, Jason Momoa, and many more.

Shazam! Director Confirmed

Annabelle: Creation director David F. Sandberg confirmed he will direct Shazam!, the next DC Extended Universe movie to be filmed. Filming will begin in February 2018 for a likely 2019 release.

Stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are confirmed to attend, along with Tobias Menzies, Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, executive producers Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis, and author Diana Gabaldon.

The third season of the series will return in September, and will consist of based on Voyager, the third of eight books in Gabaldon’s Outlander series.

Netflix will also hold panels for Marvel's "The Defenders," Bright, and Death Note, and present a a surprise screening of an upcoming original film at Horton Grand Theatre on Thursday, July 20.
