If the illustrious Telegraph's translation is to be believed, Angelina Jolie isn't tied to the idea of fidelity. Jolie gave an interview to Das Neue in which she said: "I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship. It's worse to leave your partner and talk badly about him afterwards. "Neither Brad nor I have ever claimed that living together means to be chained together. We make sure that we never restrict each other." She added, "The sparks fly at home if the nice Brad fails to see that he's wrong and reacts in a defiant way. Then I can get so angry that I tear his shirt." Jolie and Brad Pitt have been together over four years and were in New York earlier Christmas week with their kids. Get HuffPost Entertainment On Facebook and Twitter! »

Short version: If you want to finish 2009 with a fun, entertaining movie – go see Sherlock Holmes.
Screen Rant reviews Sherlock Holmes
I had high hopes going in to Sherlock Holmes, and I’m happy to report that director Guy Ritchie, composer Hans Zimmer, Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law came together to exceed my expectations. Now do keep in mind that I am not comparing this to the classic character as portrayed in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories – not being a fan of the genre, I read a Sherlock Holmes story once, a Long time ago and have no memory of it.
Downey Jr, of course, plays Sherlock Holmes with Jude Law along as Dr. Watson. Rachel McAdams appears on the scene later on in the film as an ex-love interest of Holmes. As the film opens, it is apparant that Holmes and Watson work in concert with the local police, »

2009 was a year of delights at the movies. The list below testifies to that. It doesn't rival '07 when two examples of virtual moviemaking perfection were released--namely "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood" but '09 may have been filled with as many unexpectedly joyful film going experiences as I can remember in a single calendar year.
From sitting in the first public screening of what should have been a forgetful and frivolous romantic comedy on a frigid night in Park City (see #8) to being flabbergasted by the inventiveness of a would-be sci-fi auteur (whose name I couldn't spell or pronounce at the time, see #7) for 112 riveting minutes. Franchises were reborn. Genres were injected with new life. Stephen Sommers made a watchable film called "G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra." Young filmmakers came of age. And one mad genius with the heart of a pussycat and »

Twilight heart-throb Robert Pattinson is the celebrity most women would like to kiss under the mistletoe, according to a new poll.
The survey by Park Christmas Savings named the Brit as 2009's top Christmas crush, with 54 per cent of girls wanting to smooch the star over the holidays.
Johnny Depp wasn't even close in second place, scoring just 17 per cent of the votes, while Brad Pitt was third with 10 per cent.
Two more Twilight stars featured in the top 10, with Kellan Lutz ahead of buff teen Taylor Lautner. »

Angelina Jolie says she believes fidelity is not essential for relationships to work. The Hollywood actress – who raises six children with her long-term partner Brad Pitt – believes open romances can work just as well as monogamous relationships, if both partners agree to it. In an interview with a German women's magazine, Jolie said: 'I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship. It's worse to leave your partner and talk badly about him afterwards. 'Neither Brad nor I have ever claimed that living together means to be chained together. We make sure that we never restrict each other.' However, she added that the couple have a fiery relationship at times: 'The sparks fly »

If only, if only. Oh wait, it might actually happen? Director/writer of "Inglorious Basterds" Quentin Tarantino says he has written about forty pages of a prequel to the hit film starring Brad Pitt and Eli Roth and it's a possibility the film could get made. Apparently, it will depend on how the original does during awards season and he's also working on another project entirely, which as usual, he isn't saying much about. All the director has revealed is that it's going to be "smaller, less epic" and a "different genre entirely" from "Inglorious Basterds". He's planning to finish the screenplay within five to six months. So what do you guys think? Are you anxious to see a prequel to "Basterds"? Or should it be left alone?

With Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes about to get released, it’s time for the final segment of “7 Days with Producer Dan Lin”. Over the past week we’ve covered all the various projects Lin is developing like the Lego movie and Gangster Squad, his thoughts on the Terminator Salvation ending and what’s up with future movies, what’s up with Bone and Tom and Jerry, and yesterday was about the Justice League movie, Suicide Squad, and Stephen King’s It. But for tonight’s article, we finally get to the reason I got to speak with him in the first place: Sherlock Holmes.
As I have said many times, I loved the film. It’s got a great script. Fantastic performances from everyone involved. Amazing chemistry between Jude Law and Downey Jr.. A third act that doesn’t suck. Action scenes that sell why Sherlock Holmes is Sherlock Holmes. »

Yesterday, MTV's Eric Ditzian ran through five of the best movie gifts -- which is to say, gifts given in movies -- a person could ask for. From Buzz Lightyear in "Toy Story" (personally, I'd prefer a TurboMan from "Jingle All the Way") to the self-lacing Nike sneakers in "Back to the Future Part II," Eric shared some great holiday gift ideas. You probably won't be able to get your hands on any of them at this late hour, but you can at least look at the pictures and sigh wistfully at the missed opportunities.
I'm back today with another gifts list. Except these are prezzies that you're not going to find under the tree when you stumble into the living room on the morning of December 25. The history of cinema is rife with great examples of poor gift-giving, and I've collected some of the worst right here. So hit »

Brad Pitt in Inglourious Basterds (François Duhamel / The Weinstein Co.) Inglourious Basterds, Quentin Tarantino’s violent World War II fantasy, was the Phoenix Film Critics Society’s best picture of 2009. (See full list below.) Tarantino was chosen best director, while the film’s cast, which includes Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, Melanie Laurent, Diane Kruger, and Christoph Waltz, was cited as the year’s best ensemble cast. Although Inglourious Basterds has been mentioned before as best picture of the year (e.g., Toronto, tied with Steve McQueen’s Hunger), that particular category has been dominated by Kathryn Bigelow’s Iraq War drama The Hurt Locker and Jason Reitman’s socially conscious dramatic comedy Up in the Air. More predictable were the acting winners: George Clooney for Up in the Air, [...] »

Read all abart it! Read all abart it! Cor blimey Guv, would you Adam and Eve it? The flicker ain’t even bin shown yet, an’ already the main geezers are talkin’ abart a bloomin’ sequel. Okay, I’ll knock off the Mockney patois. Now for some serious (kind of) news:
Guy Ritchie’s attempt at big budget filmmaking – Sherlock Holmes – released worldwide on either Christmas Day or Boxing Day depending where you are in the world is apparently so good there’s talk of sequels already. In an interview with MTV News, Messers Downey Jnr. and Law discussed all kinds of fluff and nonsense. Is Sherlock Holmes a “bro-mance”? Jude Law, mused:
“The great thing about this partnership and about the heart of the film, as Robert said, is these two characters are very much two parts of the same piece. They pick each other up where the other falls, »

Will Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt ever get married? Not bloody likely since Jolie considers fidelity overrated, which is basically an excuse to go “get some” on the side.
“Neither Brad nor I have ever claimed that living together means to be chained together,” says Jolie in a recent interview. “We make sure that we never restrict each other.”
Wow. How hip. How so 2010.
She added: “I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship. It’s worse to leave your partner and talk badly about him afterwards.”
Was that a zing at Jennifer Aniston? Let’s start that rumor right here and now.
Jolie and Pitt have six younglings at home. Maddox, Pax, Zahara and the twins, Knox and Vivienna.
Jolie recently wrapped up production on her spy thriller Salt. The feature will arrive in theaters on July 23.

Angelina Jolie has sparked doubts over the longevity of her relationship with Brad Pitt - by insisting a faithful union isn't "absolutely essential for a relationship."
The Oscar-winner and her Hollywood hunk partner have been together for five years, and share six children; Maddox, eight, Pax, six, Zahara, four, Shiloh, three, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17 months.
But the actress insists that despite their commitment to each other, the pair don't expect to be "chained together" forever.
According to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, Jolie says, "Neither Brad nor I have ever claimed that living together means to be chained together. We make sure that we never restrict each other.
"I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship. It's worse to leave your partner and talk badly about him afterwards."
And Jolie admits their romance is often marred by furious arguments.
She adds, "The sparks fly at home if the nice Brad fails to see that he's wrong and reacts in a defiant way. Then I can get so angry that I tear his shirt. We're not violent enough for these things, and we consider our six children." »

There is no shortage of sex in the movies, but sometimes it does feel like there is a shortage of sexy. Over at Entertainment Weekly they have compiled the list of what they claim are the 25 sexiest movies of All-Time, and while I agree with most of their picks, I do think in a few cases they have managed to confuse love with sex (but haven't we all?). The list covers everything from full on sex flicks like 9 1/2 Weeks to more subtle fare like Martin Scorsese's The Age of Innocence. So first let's take a look at the films that earned a spot on EW's hall of fame, and then we'll get to five movies that get my pulse racing.
The top five is pretty much what you would expect: you've got the baseball comedy Bull Durham in the number five spot, followed by the 80's noir classic Body Heat, »
