The A-List Inner Circle: How All the Famous Jennifers Are Connected

20 October 2017 7:00 AM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Hollywood is a small town, but it just got even smaller. The A-list isn't a new concept in Tinseltown and it's no secret that there's a select group of people who can considered to be stars of the highest caliber. But what people might not realize is that the A-list is basically one exclusive club of interconnected actors and actresses—it's like that old game, Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, only Kevin Bacon isn't actually invited this time because it's just that exclusive.  After some very exhaustive research it's easy to come to the conclusion that, in fact, the group of actors at the top of their craft is so insular that they basically make up one big movie cast. It's no wonder that »

Robert Englund says he is too old to play Freddy Krueger again

19 October 2017 7:08 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The 2010 A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot was panned critically, and put any potential for a rebooted franchise soundly to sleep. Cut to 2017 with New Line preparing to try, once again, to bring Freddy Krueger back from the dead with The Conjuring 2 writer David Leslie Johnson working on the script. The obvious questions is: just who will don the fedora this time around?

It’s tough to say, though Freddy himself has pegged Kevin Bacon for his successor. One thing is for sure: Robert Englund will not be returning to play Freddy again. Speaking to EW, the horror icon put any hopes fans may have had for his return into the furnace:

“I’m too old to do another Freddy now. If I do a fight scene now it’s got to be real minimal because I can’t snap my head for eight different takes and different angles. »

Robert Englund Reveals Whether He’d Ever Play Freddy Krueger Again

18 October 2017 3:51 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

We all know the story of Wes Craven’s 1984 horror classic A Nightmare On Elm Street. Terrifying dream demon Freddy Krueger stalks the teenagers of Springwood through their slumber – torturing them to death in gory and disturbing ways before they wake. Without a doubt, Freddy (originally played by Robert Englund) is one of the most legendary villains of modern cinema – with his red and green striped jumper, knifed glove, and burned visage – and he also finds himself on the ever-growing list of horror icons poised for a return.

With Michael Myers and John Kramer (Aka the Jigsaw Killer) bound for the silver screen once more – Halloween in 2018; Jigsaw later this month – Warner Bros. and New Line are plotting a new incarnation of Elm Street, with David Leslie Johnson (The Conjuring 2) on script duties.

Aside from some surprising story trinkets that emerged not too long ago, though, both studios have »

Mayhem 2017: Friday the 13th Part III 3D Review: Dir. Steve Miner

Friday the 13th Part III 3D review: Jason stalks and slashes his victims in the third dimension in this one-off screening at Mayhem Film Festival.

Friday the 13th Part III 3D review by Kat Hughes.

Friday the 13th Part III 3D Review

The 1980’s was a glorious time for the horror genre. With the rise of the mighty VHS it was so very easy to get your horrific content out into the world, so much so that we were gifted the ‘video nasty’ of cinema. At the same time, 3D was taking cinemas by storm, it would go on to be a flash-in-the-pan craze that would die until James Cameron’s Avatar. It comes as no surprise then that many films sought to combine horror and 3D, one such film is Friday the 13th Part 3.

The third film (obviously) in the franchise gave the new technology a whirl, and »

Robert Englund Reveals His Awesome Idea For A Nightmare On Elm Street 3

6 October 2017 8:45 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Cinema history is filled with tantalizing ‘what ifs,’ ranging from the weird to the fascinating. What if Kubrick had been able to make his epic Napoleon? What if Bill Murray had been cast as Batman in the 1989 film? What would David Lynch’s Return of the Jedi have looked like? Now, we can chalk another one up on the board, because in an interview with Cinema Blend, Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund, revealed that he lobbied to make A Nightmare on Elm Street 3.

Elm Street scholars will of course know that the third film in the franchise is Dream Warriors. Set in a mental hospital, we find ‘final girl’ Nancy Thompson training her patients to control their dreams in order to combat Freddy. Needless to say, it doesn’t end well for most of them (I seem to remember Freddy injecting one person with a buttload of heroin).

Fans of Kyra Sedgwick from back in her TNT “The Closer” days as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson love seeing her come back to the small screen. That show morphed into the current crime drama “Major Crimes” but Kyra is no longer on it. Also, well-known as the wife of the film star and musician, Kevin Bacon, Kyra now brings her considerable acting talents to a new crime drama with an interesting format. So, the question now is “Ten Days in the Valley Series Premiere: Will the Show Make It?” “24”-Like Format For starters, the format that I’m referring to

‘Finding Your Roots’: Larry David and Bernie Sanders Are Related, and More Shocking Revelations From PBS’ Ancestry Series

Although Larry David had impersonated Senator Bernie Sanders brilliantly multiple times on “Saturday Night Live,” the men’s resemblance was written off as nothing but a joke. After all, they’re both older Jewish men from New York. Of course they’re similar.

On Tuesday night’s premiere of PBS’ “Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr.” though, they discovered they have far more in common than just looks. After running a DNA test on the two, host Gates revealed that they share significantly long sequences of identical DNA. In short, they’re related.
