While 2008's "Incredible Hulk" only performed marginally better at the box office than its 2003 counterpart, many fans praised Louis Leterrier's take on Marvel's green goliath as a significant upgrade from Ang Lee's earlier film. One of the most notable improvements, according to many critics, was the addition of award-winning actor Tim Roth as the villainous soldier Emil Blonsky opposite Edward Norton's scientist-on-the-run Bruce Banner.
Even though [Spoiler Alert] Roth's character was on the receiving end of a Hulk beatdown at the end of the film (despite becoming the mutated behemoth Abomination), the door was left wide open for a potential return. And as Hulk fans know, Blonsky is a regular presence among Hulk's rogues.
While chatting with Roth recently about "Lie to Me," the Fox television series in which he plays a human lie-detector of sorts, I managed to slip in a few questions about his experience battling one »

Opens: 2010
Cast: Naomi Watts, Annette Bening, Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington
Director: Rodrigo Garcia
Summary: A tale of a mother and daughter, separated at birth, who struggle with the damage done by the most important person missing in their lives while a young African-Americn woman deals with an unwanted pregnancy and the adoption process.
Analysis: Scoring rave reviews in Toronto, the $7 million latest effort of Rodrigo Garcia ("Nine Lives," "Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Her") once again shows off his skill at weaving multiple narratives together in clever and unexpected ways. At its heart it's an emotional family drama, but Garcia excels with his female characters which makes the involvement of Naomi Watts, Kerry Washington and especially Annette Benning thrilling.
The few criticisms levelled at the film were toward some pacing and credibility issues in the last act, but otherwise praised it for not »

While the title of this post is certainly no surprise to fans who know anything about the character of Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff), what we weren’t sure on is whether or not she’d be a part of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Iron Man 2 specifically.
From the latest trailer for Iron Man 2, there is a hint that we’ll be seeing Scarlett Johansson’s Russian super spy join the side of good and work for Nick Fury and The Avengers during the story of this movie.
Warning: If you’re not familiar with the history of Black Widow from Marvel Comics, some of this may act as a plot spoiler for Iron Man 2.
In the books, Natasha Romanoff is initially an enemy of Iron Man (her first mission in the Us involved her assassinating him) but defects to the United States from the Soviet Union. She starts with freelance work for S.H.I.E.L.D., »

Variety reports that creator Aaron McGruder announced via his twitter account the return of his critically acclaimed series The Boondocks after a two-year hiatus. Currently in production, the show’s third season will premiere in early 2010. “Finally got an airdate for Season 3,” McGruder tweeted. “Not sure if I’m allowed to put it out yet, so I’ll just say you got about three months!”
The Boondocks originally premiered in November 2005 on Adult Swim for a 15-episode season. Based on the long-running newspaper strip written and drawn by McGruder, the show followed the lives of the black Freeman family and their exploits in a predominately white, high-class neighborhood. Since airing, the show has been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series at the 37th NAACP Image Awards and has won a Peabody Award for the episode “Return of the King,” which imagined what Martin Luther King, Jr. would think of the current »

2009 is drawing to a close. Although the year isn't marked with any crippling writers' strike or a shocking death of a Hollywood young talent like Heath Ledger, it does have a story of its own. Here, AceShowbiz presents a look at the occurrences happening in movie biz over the first quarter.

The Apple family of electronics will become a little bit cooler (and more vocal –ahem-) with the upcoming launch of the iSamJackson app for the iPhone and iPod touch. The app touts the first interactive Samuel L. Jackson experience which will feature original and authentic recordings from the outspoken actor himself.
The best feature of the app might be the “Ask Sam” feature, where the man himself behaves as your personal magic 8-ball, allowing users to “seek instantaneous advice from the king of cool.”
As exciting at this app may be, I’d say it’s likely that it would find a better home with the college and bar crowd rather than your kid’s phone, but who am I to question the territory of the head of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

While we have seen superhero teams on screen before in X-Men and Fantastic Four, we've not yet seen several heroes crossing over from their own films into one ensemble movie.
This will happen in The Avengers, the 2012 Marvel Studios team-up movie bringing together Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth's Thor, Captain America, Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury and possibly Hawkeye, Edward Norton's Hulk, Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and others.
Staff at Marvel Comics are excited to see how the concept of uniting all those characters will work on the big screen.
In an interview with Newsarama, several of them have given their views on the Avengers film.
Writer Brian Michael Bendis, who for five years has been the 'architect' of the Avengers comic, is part of the creative committee that consults on movies in development at Marvel Studios, including The Avengers.

Michael Jackson is back. Ok, stay with me here: In February 2010, the “Honey I Shrunk The Audience” attraction at Disneyland in southern California is out. Taking back its place is a 17-minute “3-D musical motion picture space adventure” starring the “King of Pop” Michael Jackson, who performs two songs: “We Are Here to Change The World” and “Another Part of Me.” The movie was directed by Francis Ford Coppola, and produced by George Lucas.
The 3-D experience is called Captain Eo, and it originally played at Epcot and Disneyland starting in 1986 until closing around 1998. Captain Eo cost about a million dollars to make per minute, and was at the time the most expensive motion picture ever.
The short film was about Captain Eo (Jackson) and his crew traveling towards a bitter queen who lived in a cold dark world. (who was played by Anjelica Huston). In the original presentation, lasers, »

Sneak Peek the new trailer for the Paramount sequel "Iron Man 2", based on Marvel Comics characters created by writer Stan Lee and illustrators Don Heck/Jack Kirby.
"Iron Man 2" is set six months after the events of "Iron Man", with the secret ' S.H.I.E.L.D.' organization continuing to play a major role.
The film also explores Stark's alcoholism, his unwillingness to accept his advancing age, his glib approach to life while concealing the fact he is Iron Man and his jealously towards love interest 'Pepper' (Gwyneth Paltrow), finding another boyfriend.
Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as 'Tony Stark' aka 'Iron Man', said the film was not an adaptation of the "Demon in a Bottle" storyline from the comic book series, but more about the 'interim space' between the origin and demon story arc.
The film also stars actors Don Cheadle as 'Col. »

“He frees hostages for a living. Now he’s taking hostages to survive.” With advertising taglines like that, it was all too easy to write The Negotiator off before it was ever released. But those who could find their way past the bad advertising campaign found a good drama-thriller with a somewhat original idea. Not great, but definitely good. Director F. Gary Gray (Friday, The Italian Job) brings together a talented cast highlighted by the standoff between Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey. Jackson plays Danny Roman, a talented Chicago hostage negotiator whose out-of-the-box tactics are ensuring his career is going swimmingly. Then a fellow cop presents him with information that some officers may be embezzling money. (Surely, not in Chicago’s upstanding force). Roman maintains his innocence throughout, and in an effort to prove it finds himself creating, rather than resolving, a hostage situation. Roman demands Chris Sabian (Spacey), another famed Chicago negotiator, »
