Somewhere in between Bronx and Bob, there are a whole host of celebrity baby names that live on the fringe between “out there” and “traditional.” According to nameberry.com co-founder Pamela Redmond-Satran, these so-called “outlier” names have the added benefit of being “truly original” while remaining recognizable as established, tried-and-true names.
Among Pamela’s favorites are Paulina, as recently chosen by former baseball star Mike Piazza. “Her middle name Sophia might be a trendy top ten favorite,” Pamela notes, “but Paulina, which has that same feminine exoticism, is a fresher choice that could launch a new trend.” Bronwyn, as chosen »

Tennis ace Andre Agassi stormed off the set of Friends during one of his then-wife Brooke Shields' appearances on the sitcom - because he couldn't sit and watch her lick Matt LeBlanc's fingers.
The sportsman details the odd moment in his candid memoirs, Open, and admits it sparked a meltdown he had when he returned home - and smashed his tennis awards.
He tells U.S. news show Access Hollywood, "I'd determined that tennis is the most meaningless job in the world, I felt disconnected to what it is I do... (I was) pretty much depressed after the 1995 U.S. Open and here I go to a world of people pretending, a world that is so unfamiliar to what it is I live every day.
"The scene called for her (Shields) to eat some hand... It just all became very surreal."
So Agassi walked off the set, got in his car and drove: "I wanted to be free of my own skin... I ended up driving back to Vegas and then you look at all these trophies sitting in your living room that represent the very life that you don't care about... and I just broke all my trophies. I just lost it." »

Tennis, drugs, Brooke Shields, blah blah blah. There was only one truly great revelation in Andre Agassi's new memoir Open: An Autobiography: The tennis star's famous tresses were actually a "weave system." (Somewhere, Tyra Banks is cursing herself for not landing this interview.) "I was at a time in my life too where i was kind of in a bit hiding myself," explained Agassi on Letterman last night. "What better way to hide yourself than to wear a mullet?" Wise words, Andre. Check out the clip below, in which Agassi bids adieu to his 'do. Weird as it may sound, »

Retired tennis ace Andre Agassi reached out to his ex-wife Brooke Shields before releasing his tell-all autobiography - because he wanted to get her side of the story about their troubled time together.
Agassi spills all about the couple's ill-fated marriage, which ended in divorce in 1999, in his candid memoir Open, confessing they were a terrible match and should never have wed.
The sports star recently admitted he clung on to the model/actress in a desperate bid to find happiness during an emotional breakdown.
He said, "(I was) 27 years old, ranked 141 in the world and in a marriage that I shouldn't be (sic) in... I didn't want to be playing tennis either, so my life was filled with things I didn't want, things I didn't choose. Part of it was an inability to find a place for anything really."
But Agassi felt obliged to contact Shields and get her input on his recollection of their doomed union, so he could present both sides of the story to fans.
He says, "I included her in the process. I had to navigate a lot of waters and I went to great pains to shine a stronger light on me, my goal was to be harder on me than anybody, but she's part of the process. We had a lot of similar recollections (but) our interpretations differed at times."
In his new book, Agassi also admits to taking crystal methamphetamines and deliberately throwing tennis matches. »

Too many stars to fit in one frame: Anthony Mackie, Brooke Shields, Jennifer Aniston, David Cross, Liev Schrieber, Naomi Watts, Jeremy Sisto, Emmy Rossum, Julia Stiles, and Gaby Hoffmann are among the cast members taking a curtain call after performing in the 24 Hour Plays. Kevin Mazur/Getty Images. It has been an unusually starry fall on Broadway—Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig in A Steady Rain, Jude Law in Hamlet, and, later this month, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury in A Little Night Music, just to name a few. But rarely has there been such assemblage of big names on one Broadway stage as there was last night at the American Airlines Theater. Among the performers were Jennifer Aniston, David Cross, Billy Crudup, Rosario Dawson, John Krasinski, Ashton Kutcher, Eva Mendes, Demi Moore, Rosie Perez, Sam Rockwell, Liev Schrieber, Brooke Shields, Julia Stiles, Amber Tamblyn, and Naomi Watts. She joined a handful of actor couples for the evening, including Emily Blunt and John Krasinki as well as Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts. Demi Moore was a lot more covered up than her recent W cover, as she posed with husband Ashton Kutcher. Jennifer joined her fellow thespians onstage to sing "Yellow Submarine" and take part in the hastily-written theater exercise, which was held to benefit arts in education programs in public schools. She took her bow next to a similarly-dressed Brooke Shields before moving on for some after-hours fun with Ashton and Demi. View 35 Photos › To see more from the event, just read more. Los Angeles, California (X17online) - In a new biography, tennis star Andre Agassi admits to having used the powerful drug, crystal methamphetamine, then lied about it to the Association of Tennis Professionals when it was detected during a drug test. In an excerpt from the book obtained by The Times, he writes about his first encounter with the drug in 1997, when his career was starting to fade and he was having troubles in his marriage to Brooke Shields. He writes that his assistant, whom he calls "Slim", first introduced him to the drug: "Slim is stressed too ... He says, You want to get high with me? On what? Gack. What the hell’s gack? Crystal meth. Why do they call it gack? Because that’s the sound you make when you’re high ... Make you feel like Superman, dude. As if they’re coming out of someone else’s mouth, »
