It may not be one of the great remaining mysteries, on a par with the nature of dark matter or the origins of the universe, but the question of how many women Warren Beatty, 72, has slept with certainly seems to have got New York's media-land in a froth.
Peter Biskind, Beatty's new biographer, estimates that the famously seductive star of Bonnie and Clyde and Reds has notched up 12,775 sexual conquests, including Isabelle Adjani, Diane Keaton and Madonna. If true, that is impressive. Don Giovanni could only claim a lacklustre 2,065, according to Mozart's librettist, Lorenzo Da Ponte.

Hollywood legend Warren Beatty has slept with over 12,775 women, a new biography claims. Author Peter Biskind says he based the number of the 72-year-old actor's conquests on "simple arithmetic."
In his book "Star: How Warren Beatty Seduced America," biographer Biskind claims that the estimated figure of 12,775 "does not include daytime quickies, drive-bys, casual gropings, stolen kisses and so on."
The author told the New York Post that Beatty was an "equal-opportunity seducer," who had a variety of attractive and unattractive women coming in and out of his room.
Bisking listed Jane Fonda, Joan Collins, Julie Christie, Diane Keaton, Janice Dickinson, and Madonna as some of Beatty's celebrity lovers before he was tamed by "Bugsy" co-star Annette Bening, whom he married in 1992.

[Updated 4.07 p.m] For all the hot Hollywood actors who are often said to be the biggest celebrity studs, you guys need to read a book.
The Dish Rag thinks Colin Farrell, John Mayer, Jude Law and Gerard Butler should check the new biography, "Star: How Warren Beatty Seduced America."
You guys are amateurs compared to Beatty.
