Splash News has posted photos of Anna Paquin and Katie Holmes filming The Romantics on Long Island. The Romantics revolves around eight friends from college who reunite for a wedding. Holmes plays Laura, the maid of honor to Paquin's Lila, the bride. Laura and Lila are best friends who both have a past with the groom (Josh Duhamel). The latest celebs who become the targets of dating rumors are Adam Brody and Dianna Agron. The twosome ignited romance talks after they were spotted hanging out together in Long Island, New York on Friday morning, November 6.
An onlooker who saw the pair inside the Starbucks tells Ok! Magazine, "They were really in there quite some time. I figured it would just be an in-and-out visit. But they settled in to chat for nearly an hour." A local who also witnessed Adam and Dianna concurs, "They were smiling all the time and seemed in a great mood."
As of the press time, neither Adam nor Dianna has commented on the dating report.
Adam Brody is currently in Long Island, New York to film comedy-romance flick "The Romantics". His cast mates include Katie Holmes, Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Malin Akerman, and Elijah Wood. He was well known for starring as Seth Cohen »

Haven't heard of The Experiment? Don't worry, there are always plenty of great indies you've never heard of! Our friends at Bloody-Disgusting got their hands on a few new photos from The Experiment at Afm. The film, which is a remake of Oliver Hirschbiegel's Das Experiment, is about a group of ordinary people who are chosen to participate in the roles of guards and prisoners in a psychological study that examines how the effects of assigned roles, power, and control affect the participants. Obviously it spins out of control. Adrien Brody, Forest Whitaker, Elijah Wood, Cam Gigandet, Clifton Collins Jr. and Maggie Grace all star in this. I love these types of films. I'm already reminded of The Killing Room, which is another great "experiment" film, and I need to watch the original Das Experiment before this as well. According to reports, actress Katie Holmes and wife of Tom Cruise has just landed a new movie role. Sources say she's replaced Liv Tyler in the upcoming comedy "The Romantics". The film centers on eight college friends who reunite for a wedding. The picture also stars Elijah Wood, Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Adam Brody, Jeremy Strong and Malin Akerman. Katie will play Laura, the maid of honor to Anna Paquin's Lila, the bride. Laura and Lila are best friends who both have a past with the groom played by Josh Duhamel. Variety writes that Katie Holmes will replace Liv Tyler as the lead in the upcoming indie flick The Romantics. Tyler left the project for undisclosed reasons, and Holmes joins a cast that already includes Anna Paquin, Elijah Wood, and Adam Brody.
Its story involves eight friends who reunite for the wedding of Paquin's character, Lila. Both she and Holmes' character have a past with the groom, played by Josh Duhamel. Galt Niederhoffer is writing and directing from her own novel, which debuted last summer.
The Romantics begins shooting this week and is due out sometime in 2010.

Los Angeles - Tom Cruise's wife, Katie Holmes, is planning to get romantic - and not with her husband. Liv Tyler's out of The Romantics and Katie Holmes is in, according to Variety. Holmes (aka Mrs Tom Cruise) will take over the role Tyler had originally signed on to play in the comedy film from writer/director Galt Niederhoffer. Holmes, who is also now on board as an executive producer, will play Anna Paquin's maid of honor.
In real life, Paquin is engaged to her handsome True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer. In the film, Paquin will be marrying Josh Duhamel (who's actually married to Fergie from The Black Eyed Peas). The Romantics also features Malin Akerman, Elijah Wood, Jeremy Strong and Adam Brody as college friends who get back together for Lila's wedding.
Variety reports The Romantics will begin shooting in New York in the next few days.

Not too long ago, Katie Holmes was the one getting ousted. After romancing Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins, she was set aside so Maggie Gyllenhaal could whip up a much more spot-on Rachel Dawes. Now it's her time to take over a role. It might not be part of a well-established franchise, but Variety reports that Holmes will be replacing Liv Tyler in the romantic comedy The Romantics.
As I wrote when Tyler signed on for the project, this film sees Galt Niederhoffer adapting and directing from her own novel, which focuses on a group of college friends who reunite after 6 years for a wedding. The event brings up a rivalry between the groom, the bride, and her maid of honor. Anna Paquin is playing the bride, Josh Duhamel is the groom, and Holmes is stepping in as maid of honor. Here are your casting notes for the morning before Page 2 hits. Katie Holmes is on an upswing and Morgan Freeman gets into comedy. I'd love to see him do a lot more comedy, so long as it's not along the lines of Bruce Almighty, and hopefully this new R-rated project would do the trick. I was already thinking about Katie Holmes this morning (it's been a while, Katie!) while writing about the downsizing of Miramax. She's in Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, the Miramax remake of a classic TV movie that my friend Troy's been shooting in Australia. Hope that one doesn't get a raw deal given the shape Miramax is in. Variety reports that Katie Holmes has boarded the independent project in place of Liv Tyler, who was originally attached to play Laura, the maid of honor to Anna Paquin's Lila, the bride. The remainder of the cast includes Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Malin Akerman, Elijah Wood, Adam Brody and Jeremy Strong. This is being directed by Galt Niederhoffer, who also wrote the novel and the screenplay. Production on The Romantics was supposed to start earlier in the summer, but it never did.
