TV Review: Final Season of ‘Nip/Tuck’ Starts With Lackluster Premiere

14 October 2009 10:39 AM, PDT | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – Let’s be honest: “Nip/Tuck” has been in need of a face lift for years. The show arguably jumped the shark when The Carver took over (in season three) and has never quite looked the same since. Even with the sizable flaws of the last two seasons, “Nip/Tuck” was never boring. It even showed flashes of creator Ryan Murphy’s occasional genius in the seasons since.

But the premiere of season six, which will be the show’s last, hints at a team that has grown weary of their own creation. Dull, confusing, and simply uninteresting, “Nip/Tuck” looks like it might go out with a whimper instead of a bang.

Television Rating: 2.5/5.0

The premiere of season six, “Don Hoberman,” raises more questions than anything else. And not questions about where it’s going but about what the hell happened. Firstly, who thought that Katee Sackhoff (“Battlestar Galactica »

[DVD Review] Hannah Montana: The Movie

22 August 2009 2:05 PM, PDT | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

Following little more than a month on the heels of the Jonas Brothers movie, Hannah Montana: The Movie easily overshadows its predecessor while still doing little more than highlighting one of Disney’s rising stars. Hannah Montana: The Movie benefits from a decent plot which continues the television show’s story while still providing a simple plot that functions autonomously from the pre-existing Hannah Montana timeline – which was important for this reviewer. It takes its place in the long line of fish out of water films and, for what it is, delivers a watchable film for the kiddies and the parents who bought it for them.

Miley Stewart (Miley Cyrus) lives a double life; in everyday life she’s a normal teenage girl going to high school and working through all the drama that brings, but with her publicist by her side she hops a limo to crowded concert halls »

Trailer - Leslie Bibb is 'Miss Nobody'

7 June 2009 4:17 AM, PDT | GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news »

I guess the first major victory for Leslie Bibb was appearing on the show Popular, which led a couple years later to playing Mrs. Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights, and from there she had the great morning after scene in Iron Man, wearing Tony Stark's shirt.

But Bibb is getting a big, juicy leading role in the small dark comedy, Miss Nobody. I don't want to reveal anything about the plot; I'll let the trailer do that for you. But for a shoestring budget project, Miss Nobody has a pretty good cast, including Kathy Baker, Adam Goldberg, Brandon Routh, Vivica A. Fox, Barry Bostwick, Missi Pyle, and Eddie Jemison.

For the most part, I like what I see out of the trailer; it could be tremendously quirky in just the right way: »
