Jennifer Aniston has been named Hollywood's hottest Scream Queen after her performance in the 1993 movie Leprechaun when she is chased by an evil little green man from Ireland who has somehow ended up locked in a basement in L.A. After he is unwittingly released by Aniston's family he goes on to wreak carnage all over. He bites off a policeman's head among other things and breaks legs with hammers. He tests Aniston's lung capacity to its fullest. Trash Humpers Directed by Harmony Korine Anyone who enjoyed Korine's previous feature, the funny, surreal Mister Lonely, may have been looking forward to what he was to do next in anticipation of a further expansion into pseudo-accessible territory. Instead, Korine decided to jump off the arthouse deep end with Trash Humpers, a reasonably well-executed conceptual short that somehow found its way to an incredibly tortuous 78 minutes. An "artifact" rather than a film, Humpers is meant to act as a simulation of found art, an odd relic from an unknown universe bestowed to us through some incredibly unfortuitous happenstance. Perhaps if Korine had issued the film (shot on deliberately primitive video) anonymously in a soiled plastic bag, the film might have accomplished just such an effect after being rediscovered by the bored film students of future decades, but as it stands it's merely an intermittently funny but mostly agonizing collection of »

Plummer Adds More Gravitas to Paul Bettany's 'Priest'

Things are starting to heat up for Priest, another in a long line of recent dark post-apocalyptic road trip movies. Paul Bettany has been attached for a while, and there are two separate casting announcements today.

First, there's been a Madchen Amick sighting. Remember when Twin Peaks was the drama to watch on TV for about three-and-a-half months? Amick was one of a quartet of babes featured on the whacked out David Lynch series, along with Sheryl Lee, Lara Flynn Boyle, and Sherilyn Fenn. And that makes me think of Two Moon Junction and the skintastic Meridian. Yikes. Anyway, Amick went on to do...not as much as I would have thought, unfortunately, but now she'll play the mother of Bettany's kidnapped niece, which is the impetus for Bettany's journey.

Also, according to Chud, director Scott Stewart has Tweeted that Christopher Plummer and Brad Dourif are joining the cast as well, »

Cinematical has just received this exclusive clip from Life is Hot in Cracktown, which looks to be a pretty intense ensemble drama about a group of people trying to survive on the drug-infested inner-city streets. Based on Buddy Giovinazzo's novel (he also wrote and directed the film), Life is Hot in Cracktown sports an impressive cast that includes Kerry Washington, Brandon Routh, Victor Rasuk, Lara Flynn Boyle, Evan Ross, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Ileana Douglas, RZA ... and I can keep going.
