Speaking to People, Gellar said: "We both wanted something that was traditional but that you didn't hear every day. I was one of four Sarahs in my class growing up. Sarah Michelle Gellar has said that she is happy she waited to have children. Gellar, who gave birth to her first daughter Charlotte Grace in September, explained that she had felt pressure to start a family. "I always say, the minute you start dating someone, people ask, 'When are you getting engaged?'" she told People. "And the minute you get engaged, they ask, 'When are you getting married?' And then the minute you get married, they ask, 'When are you having a baby?' "Becoming a parent is the most selfless act, and you need to be at a point in your life where you can give up anything (more) »

Actress Sarah Michelle Prinze's birthday was extra special this year - it was the same day she learned she was expecting a baby girl.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, who welcomed Charlotte Grace with husband Freddie Prinze Jr. in September, turned 32 on 14 April.
She admits she was a little taken aback when doctors told her the sex of her child - because she was sure it was a boy.
Prinze tells People magazine, "We found out (we were having a girl) on my birthday actually. I was stunned, because for some reason I had been convinced she was going to be a boy. I said to Freddie, 'Thanks for the dress-up doll for my birthday!'
"As an only child raised by my mum, the mother-daughter bond is all I know. Now my mum comes over every Sunday morning, and to see the three generations of women, it's pretty spectacular." »

Motherhood is already having a calming affect on Sarah Michelle Prinze's life - she's learned to control her "nutty" behaviour.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star and her actor husband Freddie Prinze Jr. celebrated the birth of their first child, daughter Charlotte Grace, in September.
The actress insists parenthood has been a breeze so far because their little girl is so well behaved.
She tells People magazine, "She smiles all day long, and she is loving and cuddly... She doesn't cry. She will just go, 'Wah' once."
And the baby's quiet nature is helping Prinze reign in her own emotions, much to her husband's surprise.
She says, "I'm a New Yorker, so I'm more high-strung than most. But everything about becoming a mother just centred me."
Prinze Jr. adds, "Sarah was a little nuts before. Don't get me wrong, I loved the nuts that she was. But now she's got it all under control. Impressive is the only word." »

New mum Sarah Michelle Prinze was in disbelief when she went into labour while working out at the gym.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star and her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. welcomed baby Charlotte Grace in September.
But the actress admits her daughter almost had to be delivered by her trainer when she went into labour a week earlier than expected.
She tells People magazine, "I went into labour at the gym! I didn't really believe it. I just felt a little nauseous, and my trainer said to me, 'Um, isn't your baby coming next week? Maybe it's time now?' I said, 'Oh no, I doubt it...'
"...I went home, and I said to Freddie, 'This can't be labour.' He kept saying, 'Sarah, are you sure?'"
The actress put her stomach pains down to a dodgy dinner she'd had the night before, until the aches intensified.
But she still managed to keep her calm throughout her labour and even in the delivery room.
Prinze Jr. says, "Later that night, she was like, 'Ok, I think I might be in labour, but you should get some more sleep.' She was very calm, very centred, very prepared. I'm telling you, this girl is like Gandhi. She doesn't let anything rattle her...
And the actor is surprised at how smoothly the birth went: "It was like, three pushes and the baby was out."
Little Charlotte Grace is the couple's first child together. They married in 2002. »

If I hadn't been warming to Glee already, this for sure would've begun defrosting me: Dollhouse-keeper Joss Whedon has agreed to direct one of the back nine episodes that Fox just ordered. Turns out, the genius who gave us not only the "Once More, With Feeling" musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer but also Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is a big fan of Ryan Murphy's new phenom. So when Twentieth (the studio behind Glee) approached him about the gig, pretty much his only reservation was scheduling. "Joss directed one of the great musical episodes in the history of television on Buffy, »

Sarah Michelle Gellar spent the day with her girlfriends in La on Friday. The new mom looked absolutely fantastic as she visited a nail salon, indulging in some pampering before heading home to her one-month-old baby girl, Charlotte. Unfortunately, it sounds like Sarah's HBO show The Wonderful Maladys might not have been picked up, so carving out some relaxation time for herself could be just what Sarah needs. View 5 Photos › »

Welcome to your Monday morning television briefing. Hollywood Reporter's Nellie Andreeva is reporting that Southland executive producer John Wells has called two of the series' actors to tell them that he is currently in talks with two networks about finding Southland a new home. However, the new network won't be producing any new episodes for the time being and will reair the seven episodes from the series' freshman season and the six unaired produced episodes from Season Two as a thirteen-episode cycle. (Hollywood Reporter) Many viewers have wondered about the fate of Sarah Michelle Gellar's HBO dramedy pilot The Wonderful Maladys, which filmed in May and then promptly fell off the radar. Rumors are swirling that the project has failed to garner a series order from the pay cabler, with several people involved with the production--including co-star Nate Corrdry and director Alan Taylor--revealing on Facebook that the production won't be moving ahead. »

You should know that in Scream 2 during a scene where Sarah Michelle Gellar's character Cici gets thrown off a balcony, there's a completely visible head of a stunt coordinator that you can see if you pause or slow down the DVD. Fellow Reject Brian Salisbury taught me that, and it's a lesson I've never forgotten. Keep it close to your heart and in your mind as you read the news/rumor that Craven is definitely/maybe on board to direct Scream 4. According to a "very reliable source" close to Cinema Blend, the iconic horror director who has lived to see his early films begin to get remade is going to take his place back in the director's chair for another installment in the horror franchise that lampooned and reinvigorated the genre. Do I believe it? Probably. It's not that far-fetched to begin with. We know the ball is rolling on the project, and »

Sarah Michelle Gellar's personal life is going swimmingly—her daughter Charlotte was born last month—but her career has been seemingly trapped in professional purgatory for nearly a decade now. Smg was supposed to break out of those doldrums in 2010 with the premiere of a sophisticated new family comedy on HBO, but that prospect is now looking dim. The pilot for the series in question, The Wonderful Maladys, about a family of eccentric geniuses not unlike the Royal Tenenbaums or J.D. Salinger's Glass family, was filmed in May, and there was every hope that after Smg wrapped her maternity leave this fall, production would begin on Buffy's return to series television. So why... »

Spanx/Assets
Many women (including celebs) swear by Spanx, especially the company’s maternity collection — Sarah Michelle Prinze reportedly wore them throughout her pregnancy. So we were excited to hear that the company’s affordable offshoot, Assets, was launching the Marvelous Mama line for fall.
Available at Target for $16-$20, it features three products: Terrific Tights, which firm the hips and offer tummy support; Perfect Pantyhose, which don’t cling to clothes; and the Unbelievable Underwear, for use under skirts and short dresses. After all, moms-to-be deserve a sexy silhouette, too!

Invite Danny Pudi, who plays the frenetic, socially awkward aspiring filmmaker Abed on NBC's Community (now Thursdays, 8 p.m. Et), into your office, and, for a moment, it's like the Gilmore Girls and Greek alum (who was the first recipient of the Chris Farley Scholarship at Marquette University) is doing a Keyser Söze sketch. "Pandas will love Community," he says after spotting the stuffed animal behind you. (Don't ask.) "We have an Asian Spanish teacher [Ken Jeong as Señor Chang], and pandas love Asians because they're in China and they're protected there." But like Abed, Pudi is observant and just wants to connect. Washed-up music video directors rejoice! Platinum Dunes plans on having more work for you in the future! According to Variety Michael Bay has teamed up his production company with Paramount Pictures. This gives "producers" Brad Fuller and Andrew Form the chance to prove that they can actually "produce" something original for once. First up for the dynamic duo; The Butcherhouse Chronicles, a thriller written by Stephen Susco who "wrote" the Sarah Michelle Gellar fartfest The Grudge -- and by "wrote" I mean re-wrote Ju-On. »
