Got around to checking out a new thriller starring Samuel L Jackson and Eva Mendes called 'The Cleaner'. Directed by Renny Harlin and written by Michael Aldrich it is a surprisingly fresh crime thriller that delivers up until the last few minutes where it comes apart. Released to dvd this summer it really got no buzz at all on this site and its a shame. The plot of this film from IMDb goes as follows; Single father and former cop Tom Cutler has an unusual occupation: he cleans up death scenes. But when he's called in to sterilize a wealthy suburban residence after a brutal shooting,...

Filmmaker Brad Furman is set to direct Alcon Entertainment’s upcoming thriller “Valet,” according to Variety.

Based on a script by Alan B. McElroy and rewritten by Matthew Aldrich, the film springs from the true story of a parking attendant who became obsessed with a female customer and literally penetrated into her life.

Furman’s directing credits include “The Take,” starring Tyrese Gibson and John Leguizamo. As for McElroy, he wrote films such as “Wrong Turn,” “Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever” and “The Marine.” Aldrich penned the screenplay for Renny Harlin’s “Cleaner.”

This pretty much sounds like a remake of Franck Khalfoun’s disappointing horror thriller “P2.” Where are the new, original ideas folks? We’ve seen all this too many times already.

Well... Since Warners did well with The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe DVD (not to mention the Dukes Of Hazzard prequel), it shouldn't come as a surprise that they're combing through their back catalog for more titles to sequelize.
Moviehole.net reports that we can expect a direct-to-dvd Deep Blue Sea 2 sometime next year. The site reports, "a studio source tells us today that the long-gestating “Deep Blue Sea 2” will be headed to a Blockbuster store near you (or more accurately, to Netflix) sometime next year. It's the next film they hope to do."
No other details besides the following, "Like the other flicks that Wp is putting out, “Deep Blue Sea 2” will be made on a pretty most budget, so don’t expect any of the headline stars of the original – Thomas Jane or LL Cool J, for instance – to return. At the moment nobody’s on board – it

Just added! A Fright exclusive interview with actress Tuesday Knight! Fright fans, you are in for a treat! We were fortunate enough to speak candidly with actress/jewelry maker Tuesday Knight, who took over the role of Kristen Parker (originated by Patricia Arquette) in A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master! We asked Tuesday about her experiences facing off against Freddy Krueger in the Renny Harlin directed Nightmare entry. She also talked about her company Tuesday's Hip Vintage, which boasts clients such as Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan & Paris Hilton, as well as the "almost-made" Madonna bio-pic, her strained relationship with Lisa Wilcox and what it was like appearing on The X-Files! (David Dochovny's a doll, Gillian Anderson is not!) Fiends, this interview has got it all! Click either image below to read her extensive interview with Icons Of Fright!

Die Hard 2/The Long Kiss Goodnight director Renny Harlin has long reigned as one of Hollywood's preeminent vulgarians. When super-producer Joel Silver wanted to transform Andrew "Dice" Clay from potty-mouthed laffsmith to big-budget action hero in The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane, Harlin was the slickster he tapped for the job. Similarly, when Paul Schrader's Exorcist: Dominion got art and ambition all over a lucrative film franchise built on a solid foundation of head-spinning, foul-mouthed demons, and projectile vomiting, Harlin was recruited to add the flash, trash, and gratuitous gore missing from Schrader's more sober, philosophical prequel. So it's a profound disappointment that Harlin's latest effort, the direct-to-dvd thriller Cleaner, lacks even the vulgar energy of Harlin's lesser films, in spite of a centrally present iconic badass legendary for yelling profanely about airborne reptiles. Samuel L. Jackson leads a stellar, sleepwalking cast as an ex-cop and single father who...
