The aliens have landed. Well, sort of. ABC is greenlighting a pilot for a new version of V. Back in the 1980s, the V miniseries spawned both a sequel, novels, and a short-lived TV show.

The original 1983 mini-series stars Jane Badler, Michael Durrell, Marc Singer, Jeff Yagher, Blair Tefkin, Robert Englund, and Faye Grant, and focuses on a race of friendly and helpful humanoid aliens that land on Earth. Referred to as "The Visitors," these aliens offer up their advanced technology in exchange for the chemicals and minerals their ailing world desperately needs. The miniseries spawned a second miniseries, novels, and its own weekly TV show that ran »

ABC Is Bringing Back ‘V’

11 February 2009 8:20 AM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Another Remake On The Horizon:

Do you remember V?  No, not V for Vendetta.  V the television series.

Well, in case you thought your fuzzy distant memories were nothing but that, think again gang.  Back in October of ‘08 ABC gave the green light to a remake (yes, yet one more remake) of the old show.  What?  You don’t remember V?  That’s fine.  Nothing to be ashamed of.

V was about rodent-eating lizard aliens that showed up on Earth and though they said one thing, they had their eyes set on our planet’s water.  It starred Marc Singer, Faye Grant, Jane Balder, Michael Ironside, Robert Englund & Lane Smith, to name a few. »

'V' pilot invades ABC

26 January 2009 3:46 PM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

ABC has greenlit a pilot for a reworked version of the '80s sci-fi classic "V." According to Variety, the new pilot was written by Scott Peters, who knows a few things about this sort of material as co-creator and executive producer of "The 4400." Written and directed by Kenneth Johnson, the 1983 original focused on the aftermath of an invasion by the Visitors, seemingly benign aliens.  Naturally, these lizard creators aren't so benign at all. The two-part miniseries, which starred Jane Badler, Marc Singer, Faye Grant, Michael Durrell and Jenny Sullivan, caused a TV sensation when it aired on NBC. »
