Katie Holmes looked ready to work, Starbucks in hand, on her way to rehearsals in Manhattan today. While she's spending her days working on All My Sons, Katie's been getting praise from her Eli Stone costar for the singing and dancing skills we'll get to see in her upcoming guest spot. Meanwhile, rumor has it Tom is secretly screen-testing Valkyrie across the country, even though it isn't set to release until Dec. 26. With all the trouble Tom's been having with the film, it's probably good to get a quiet head start, and maybe some of Katie's good luck will rub off on him. Source

Katie Holmes' all-singing, all-dancing guest appearance on TV hit Eli Stone has been hailed by co-star Matt Letscher as "phenomenal".

The actress will appear in the U.S. comedy series as an attorney when the show returns to the air this autumn, and Letscher claims Holmes will stun audiences with her star turn on the show.

He tells People.com, "She does a song-and-dance number that is the best one we've ever done.

"We've done tons of (musical numbers), and she was just phenomenal."

And Letscher is sure Holmes would be welcome to return if she was offered another opportunity on the programme.

He says: "(Show bosses) have left it open. I think she had a great time, which made it easier. Everyone was welcoming and it couldn't have worked out better."

Letscher also echoed his fellow Eli Stone stars Natasha Henstridge and Jason Winston George's comments about Holmes' polite nature, adding: "She's the sweetest person in the world, down to earth, simple. She's just like anybody else. I met her daughter, and her husband (Tom Cruise) was on set. It was great."

Rumor has it that Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise has been considered for a part in "Shrek 4". According to Cinema Blend, the 46-year-old may be on the run to voice one of the villains in the next installment of the Ogre comedic tale. Nonetheless, it should be noted that the truth in Cruise's participation has yet to be proven.

"Shrek Goes Fourth", the fourth installment of the hit animation movies from DreamWorks, has been said to be dealing with the origin story of the titular character. Allegedly, it will have its four main actors, Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas, back to fill in their characters' voices. The flick is slated for May 21, 2010 release.

An anti-Scientology group plans to stage a protest when Katie Holmes takes to the stage for her Broadway debut next month.

The former Dawson's Creek star is due to begin her run in Arthur Miller's All My Sons at New York's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on 16 October.

But it is feared her opening night will be marred by protests from the Anonymous campaign group - whose members plan on picketing the theatre in protest against the controversial religion.

Holmes - who was raised as a Roman Catholic - converted to Scientology after meeting her husband Tom Cruise.

A spokesperson for the group tells MSNBC.com that the protest will go ahead, adding: "We aren't looking to shut it (All My Sons) down, we don't have the power to do that, we just want to prove a point.

.We want to draw attention to Scientology, and hopefully get Katie out of it before it's too late..

The Anonymous group is known for the faceless masks worn by members, and recently picketed the Scientology Centre in New York.

Tom Cruise has reportedly been getting diet advice from soccer ace David Beckham.

The Top Gun star and his wife, Katie Holmes, became pals with Beckham when the footballer and his Spice Girl wife Victoria moved to Los Angeles last year.

And the actor is said to have shed 10 pounds in just six weeks with the sports star's help.

A source tells Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, "David has been round at Tom's house a lot. While Katie and Victoria have been swapping fashion tips on the phone, David has been advising Tom on diet.

"Tom has a private gym at his home and David has been working out with him. He also gave him diet advice. Tom has been sticking to 1,200 calories a day, mostly grilled chicken and fish with lots of vegetables, salads and fruit.

"David put together a work-out regime that included the treadmill, weight training and fencing lessons together."

And the reason for the ageing actor's sudden health kick appears to be to do with his young family.

The source adds, "Tom had been steadily gaining weight. He didn't notice it at first but then he developed quite a paunch. He hated it when pictures started appearing of him with a belly and love handles.

"He turned 46 this summer and he's got a 29-year-old wife and a young family so he wanted to get back in shape."

Producers of Katie Holmes' forthcoming Broadway play All My Sons have slammed reports the show's run will be shortened due to disappointing ticket sales.

The actress wife of Tom Cruise makes her New York stage debut in October in a revival of the Arthur Miller play.

Executives of the Broadway show were reportedly banking on Holmes to give ticket sales a boost.

But according to reports, sales for the show have hit a slump.

A source tells celebrity blogger Perez Hilton sales are "definitely off from what the production hoped", adding, "You can't say it's the economy, because there are shows, like 'Mamma Mia,' that are selling out."

And Holmes' early days on hit teen TV show Dawson's Creek are getting the blame.

Another source adds: "It's not that Katie's bad in the part. She's good enough. The producers are just getting the feeling people still want to view Katie as (her character) sweet little Joey Potter."

But All My Sons executives have denied any talks of taking Holmes off the stage in a shortened run.

Show publicist Jackie Green says: "That information is totally false. There is a healthy advance for the show, and there is no chance of the run being shortened." (Jma/Wnwchp/Zn)

Tom Cruise has made yet another declaration of his devotion to Katie Holmes - after flying all night to walk her to work in the morning.

According to U.S. magazine Ok!, the actor jumped on a red-eye flight from Los Angeles on Thursday to join Holmes as she prepares for a new role in a New York theatre.

The pair strolled through Manhattan's star-studded West Village with daughter Suri, two, as Cruise escorted his wife to a rehearsal for Broadway's revival of All My Sons.

A source tells the magazine: "Some construction workers asked for a picture, but Tom politely said, 'Sorry guys, I can't stop. I'm walking my wife to work. She's got rehearsals to get to.'"

Holmes starts her run in All My Sons in the autumn.

After possibly signing up for a children's flick, Food Fight, Tom is now working on an adaptation of Sleeper, a DC Comics/Wildstorm comic.
