They aren't ranked. Deal with it. I must thank these 47 actors again (three performers have two entries) one last time for delivering such indelible characterizations these past ten years. Bid them adieu before moving on to a fresh decade, the Teens. You may notice that this list includes no 2009 performances. It's too early! To date only three of the Lord of the Rings cast have been confirmed for the two prequel movies, to be directed by none other than “Pan’s Labyrinth” genius, Guillermo Del Toro, and they are of course Sir Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Grey, Hugo Weaving as Elrond and Andy Serkis as the love him/hate him, Gollum.

Want to play the bravest little hobbit of them all in the big-screen adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit? Well, now is your chance as Spoiler TV has revealed the official casting call for the upcoming two-part film directed by Guillermo Del Toro and executive produced by Sir Peter Jackson.

But with the casting call now out, Del Toro just might stay on schedule and achieve the current release date of December 2011 for part one, with part two »
