Cinematical has received this exclusive poster for the film Dark Streets, which is being described as an "atmospheric film noir musical fantasy" (right on) starring Gabrial Mann, Bijou Phillips, Izabella Miko and Elias Koteas. Featuring music from Etta James, Natalie Cole, Aaron Neville, Richie Sambora and Chaka Khan, among others, Dark Streets follows a naive playboy and owner of the city's hottest nightclub whose life begins to spiral out of control upon investigating the shady death of his rich pop. Reviewing the film from this year's CineVegas Film Festival, Cinematical's Eric D. Snider noted that there are "many things to admire about Dark Streets" -- adding the "sumptuous cinematography and smooth, fluid camera movements bring the nightclub performance scenes to life, while the rest of the film plays with light, shadows, and colors."

Bijou Phillips: 'MacKenzie Doing Great In Rehab'

25 September 2008 12:05 PM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Latest: Actress MacKenzie Phillips' sister Bijou insists rehab is "the best thing that's ever happened" to her older sibling, after she checked into a facility following her arrest on charges of drug possession.

MacKenzie Phillips, 48, entered rehab earlier this month after a Los Angeles judge slapped her with felony charges stemming from her August arrest for possession of a controlled substance.

She was arrested at Los Angeles' Lax airport after security found her in possession of heroin and cocaine during a routine screening there on 27 August.

And 28-year-old actress Bijou Phillips insists she's happy her sister is finally seeking help after several unsuccessful stints in rehab.

She says: "She's in recovery now, and we're so proud of her. This whole thing is the best thing that's ever happened for her. We.re so happy.

"I'm thankful that this happened and that we were able to do this. It.s like we have our sister back."

MacKenzie is scheduled to be arraigned in October.

As far as I’m concerned, you can’t get any better than Crispin Glover (Willard, Back to the Future), Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator) and Brad Dourif (the voice of Chucky from the Child’s Play series) gracing the screen in the same flick. These three are not only horror movie legends, but they’re cult film legends, which [...]

Extended It's Alive Trailer Unearthed

21 August 2008 9:23 AM, PDT | From DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news

An extended trailer for the upcoming killer baby remake It's Alive! has found its way on to the net, and honestly it doesn't look half bad.

Clocking in at four minutes long the trailer, which Bloody Disgusting dug up right after it was pulled from YouTube, shows quite a bit, but one thing bothers me ... unless it goes through some sort of Kafka inspired metamorphosis the baby looks pretty normal. While I'm partial to the little clawed devil of days gone by, this one still looks to be worth a shot if only for Bijou Phillips and the body count.

Tale Of The Germs Not Infectious

7 August 2008 9:59 PM, PDT | From NYPost.com | See recent New York Post news

For punk rock fans - and those who just miss those out-of-control years of punk, graffiti, glam rock and heroin - comes "What We Do Is Secret," an unsatisfying biopic of the Germs, the seminal La punkers led by Darby Crash.

While Crash Od'd like Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols, this is hardly on par with the more riveting 1986 film "Sid & Nancy." In fact, it's more like "Sid & Sid." Crash seems to have been a closeted homosexual who strangely enough hid this aspect of himself while fearlessly showing his insanity and guts onstage.
