The 36-year-old actress was accused this week of not holding her newborn son, Strummer, correcting after she posted a picture of herself and her 5-week-old child in a baby carrier. On Friday, Stiles took to Instagram to speak out against the criticism she was receiving.
"It was brought to my attention that in the previous photo I am not holding my baby correctly," Stiles began her post.
"Wow, I didn't expect that. What was supposed to be a shout out of products I like, suddenly becomes an invitation to comment on my baby, and my ability as a mother. That's the internet for you, the carnivorous plant from 'Little Shop of Horrors,'" she continued. "I was trying to keep as much of my son's image private, including, I guess, his little feet. The 5-week-old son of actress Julia Stiles looked snug as a bug in the brand’s Ergonomic Free-to-Grow Baby Carrier in Discover ($159), as his mom used Instagram to joke about her newest accessory.
“I haven’t worn a back pack since middle school. Now I have a front pack. #jujube #tulababycarriers,” the 10 Things I Hate About You star captioned the cute image.

Stiles revealed that she and Cook married in September, with an adorable photo of their "shotgun wedding." The pair got engaged in January 2016, after meeting when Cook was a camera assistant on the 2015 movie, Go With Me. Stiles went public with her pregnancy in June.
