NBC canceled Southland and they canceled Trauma. But they're interested in a crime-solving magician.
The network has given the greenlight to a pilot for a new drama that will feature a magician who solves crimes. It will be produced and directed by Jon Amiel and written by NCIS' Dan Fesman. No title yet, but I bet NBC will lean towards something like The Magician (hey, it's sorta like The Mentalist!) instead of something lame like Hocus Pocus or Now You See It or something other magic cliche.
Of course, NBC already had a show called The Magician that was about... a crime-solving magician! I loved this show. It starred Bill Bixby, pre-Hulk. It's the show Mulder was watching when Samantha was kidnapped.

Today, Hawaii celebrates its 50th anniversary as a U.S. state. Without Hawaii, we might not have macadamia nuts, Hawaiian shirts, or luaus. And we would definitely not have Don Ho, Bill Bixby, or Barack Obama. Most importantly, without Hawaii's admission into to the union, we might have missed out on some of the best TV of all time. Most people know that Steve McGarrett and Danno booked the perps of "Hawaii Five-o" in Honolulu but the islands were home to many more TV shows. Let's celebrate Hawaii with a run-down of the best TV shows set in the 50th state. »

"CBS said that the voice of Walter Cronkite will continue to announce the 'CBS Evening News with Katie Couric.' " In a related decision, CBS also announced that it will "respectfully reconfigure" portions of its "CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite" archive to create the highly revered late journalist's dramatic guest starring debut on the network's season finale of "The Ghost Whisperer." "Cronkite" will "play" "Alfred Keagan" a lovable bank security guard who can't seem to face the loss of his Korean war-bride "Oki," played by Miyoshi Umeki (Bill Bixby's live-in maid "Mrs. Livingston" from "The Courtship of Eddie's Father" in her first network television appearance since retiring shortly after her own death in 2007.) In what CBS promises will be a uniquely moving, highly emotional episode "Belinda" (series star Jennifer Love-Hewitt) first encounters Keagan when, as luck would have it, the sleepy... »

Actor and author Chris Lemmon.
Chris Lemmon Sheds Light On Jack Lemmon: The Man Behind The Magic
By
Alex Simon
Contrary to popular belief, not all movie stars’ offspring had dysfunctional lives filled with drug abuse, domestic violence and self-destruction. Some children of stars have even gone on to live “normal” lives outside of La-la land, and hold their famous parents in high esteem. Take the case of Chris Lemmon. Born June 22, 1954 in L.A., Chris is the son of two-time Oscar winning actor Jack Lemmon and actress Cynthia Stone. Although his parents divorced when he was young, Chris remained close to both throughout their lives and penned a tribute to his father, (who passed in 2001) called A Twist of Lemmon in 2006, published by Algonquin Books.
A successful actor in his own right and a graduate of Cal Arts, Chris Lemmon most recently has collaborated with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment »
