Chris Brown Does Lots of Own Stunts for 'Takers'

8 December 2009 12:28 AM, PST | Celebrity Mania | See recent Celebrity Mania news »

Starring as a member of skilled bank robbers in action film "Takers", Chris Brown apparently does some of the stunt works himself. His co-star in the upcoming movie, Matt Dillon, unraveled the fact when talking to MTV News in a recent interview. "He's, like, jumping over cars," the older actor gushed. "He did a lot of stunts."

Recalling the filming of some scenes he shared with Brown, Dillon who plays a detective in the movie detailed, "The stuff I did with Chris Brown is chasing him though the streets for eight days straight. It was, like, nonstop." The Academy Award-nominated actor went on to praise the singer, saying "This guy is such a good athlete."

Dillon is not the only "Takers" star who has good words for the 20-year-old. Co-star Michael Ealy, who takes on the role of Brown's older brother, also spoke up about the "I Can Transform Ya" singer. »

'This guy is such a good athlete — he did a lot of stunts,' Dillon says of Brown.

In the fall of 2008, Chris Brown was ducking for cover on the set of the action movie "Bone Deep" as bullets popped overhead and MTV News watched from the sidelines. However, a few months later, Brown found himself in a much more serious situation after assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna on the eve of the Grammy Awards.

After pleading guilty, performing community-service work and discussing the incident many times in public, Brown's musical career has continued (his Graffiti LP is out on Tuesday), and so has his movie career. After a title change, "Bone Deep" is now "Takers," and in a recent conversation with MTV News, co-star Matt Dillon described the scenes he shared with Brown.

Views: A Cease And Desist Letter To George Lucas

29 November 2009 9:53 AM, PST | doorQ.com | See recent doorQ.com news »

"Bobofag" Matt Sigil "files" a Cease and Desist suit to George Lucas, for " infring[ing] upon the rights of millions of moviegoers to preserve their childhood memories" of Star Wars and Indiana Jones unscathed by lackluster and down-right offensive sequels

A partial list of Lucas' offenses include:

In Star Bores, the romantic dialogue between your two protagonists, played by Natalie Portman (hereafter referred to as "Weepy") and Hayden Christensen (hereafter referred to as "Darth Fey-der") was so purple and hackneyed that it would not pass muster either in a) a nineteenth century operetta or b) a Lifetime Channel television movie. In Star Bores, you expected the viewer to actually care about bickering between the Galactic Senate, the Jedi Council, the Corporate Alliance, and the Trade Federation -- a dense political bureaucracy as entertaining to watch as roll call at a Congressional committee on tax code amendments. In Grandpa Jones, our hero, »

Are Our Days With Downey Jr. Numbered?

19 November 2009 9:38 AM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Imagine, if you would, that Channing Tatum were chosen to play Tony Stark. What about Hayden Christensen as Sherlock Holmes? Paul Walker as Kirk Lazarus? The world of film would get a lot dimmer without Robert Downey Jr., the comeback man of the decade. He can do drama, he can do comedy and, unlike many of his A-list brethren, he knows how to be discerning when choosing a script. So when he tells Entertainment Weekly that he might not be acting for much longer, it's not only shocking, but a bit upsetting. In an interview with the aforementioned magazine (which features him in full Sherlock gear on the cover), Downey Jr. said that his current streak has been the best of his career and doesn't want to overstay his welcome, and that he and his wife want to, "begin to be in [their] lives as much as [they] are in [ »

Bilson Plans Family Life Far From Hollywood

17 November 2009 5:46 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actress Rachel Bilson has threatened to quit Hollywood and live out her days in the middle of nowhere when she becomes a mum.

The former The O.C. star currently spends time in Los Angeles and boyfriend Hayden Christensen's remote Canada farm, and she insists she'll give up life in Tinseltown altogether if she discovers she's pregnant.

Bilson says, "When I'm older I really want a family - probably off somewhere really remote. I want to raise my kids where they don't know what a camera following them is like.

"I have a seven-year-old sister so aware of paparazzi it's unbelievable. It's too weird for me."

Bilson has another very good reason to leave Hollywood behind - her home was ransacked by thieves earlier this year. It's believed the actress was a target of the so-called Burglar Bunch, who also raided the homes of Paris Hilton, Audrina Patridge and Lindsay Lohan. »

Paranormal Activity’s International Sales Company, Im Global, Rolls Out Theatrical Arm

5 November 2009 1:27 PM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

The unprecedented success of Paranormal Activity has been beneficial for many people, but one could argue that Im Global is reaping the most rewards. Hot off the success of Oren Peli’s haunting flick, Im Global Home Entertainment has been forged to focus on lower budgeted theatrical fare.

Screen Daily reports that they’re kicking things off with Brad Anderson’s genre flick The Vanishing On 7th Street starring Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton, and John Leguizamo. Story details are under wraps, but we know its premise concerns the ensuing horrors following a mysterious blackout.

Im Global will be fielding offers from buyers at Afm this week on Oren Peli’s Paranormal Activity follow-up, Area 51, which is expected to close a North American deal imminently. Paranormal Activity has grossed more than $85M in North America.

Hayden Christensen and his brother Tove have filed a lawsuit against a producer who claimed to have secured $250 million for the production and distribution of independent films.

Don't F*ck With Hayden Christensen's First-Look Deal

27 October 2009 7:30 AM, PDT | Movieline | See recent Movieline news »

Hayden Christensen and his brother Tove have filed suit against the infamous Philippe Martinez, claiming that the disgraced Hollywood financier owes them and their production company Forest Park Pictures $2.6 million apiece for the unproduced actioner Crash Bandits. The brothers reportedly went into business with Martinez at Cannes '05; their first-look deal soured soon after, and the actor's pay-to-play contract for Bandits was never honored. Martinez, who said earlier this year that he has neither filed for bankruptcy nor is in debt to any actors, is all but certainly readying his "Hayden who?" defense as we speak. Cheap shots exhausted, then he'll file bankruptcy. [THR Esq.] »

The Good, The Bad And The Wtf: Let's Exploit Dead People

25 October 2009 6:24 PM, PDT | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

Welcome to an oversized edition of "The Good, The Bad and the Wtf," to make up for last week's absence. This time, we take a look at X-Men updates, a Turtles buyout, David Spade's shamelessness, a Michael Jackson controversy and how Denzel Washington is allegedly the worst person on Earth.

The Good

• Talking to Empire mag, X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner updates fans on the status of future X-Men projects. Good news for those of you who were pissed off by Wolverine's treatment of Deadpool, because this is what Donner said about the proposed Deadpool movie:

I want to ignore the version of Deadpool that we saw in Wolverine and just start over again. Reboot it. Because this guy talks, obviously, and to muzzle him would be insane.

Cue collective sighs of relief.

Actor Hayden Christensen and his producer brother have filed a $3 million (GBP2 million) lawsuit against a filmmaker they allege conned them into signing a bogus movie deal.

The Star Wars actor claims he struck a deal with producer Philippe Martinez in 2005 to star in a film called Crash Bandits.

The star's brother Tove also allegedly signed on to co-produce the project.

The pair are now suing Martinez, who they say claimed he had a $500 million (GBP333 million) to fund the film, and agreed to pay for the right to have first shot at producing the brothers' future projects, according to TMZ.com.

But the film never got made and now the brothers are demanding $3 million (GBP2 million) from Martinez. »

'Star Wars' Possibly Prepping for New Trilogy in 3-D

21 October 2009 10:10 PM, PDT | Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news »

There could be a new "Star Wars" trilogy heading to the big screen in stereoscopic 3-D if Market Saw is to be trusted. Claiming to have heard the story from "a trusted source", the site reported that George Lucas will pass on the directing torch for these new projects although he will still serve as the films' producer.

On who might possibly take over Lucas' directing job, Market Saw pointed out that two heavyweight directors, Steven Spielberg and Francis Ford Coppola, are mentioned to be in consideration. While there is no further detail shared on the possible projects, it is noted that the development of this new trilogy is heavily dependent on the success of James Cameron's "Avatar", which will open wide in theaters across the U.S. on December 18.

'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Episode 2.04: 'Senate Spy'

17 October 2009 6:30 AM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Episode Title: "Senate Spy"

Written by: Melinda Hsu

Tagline: "A true heart should never be doubted."

Story: Now that the whole Cad Bane affair is sorted out, it's time to get back to some Jedi-on-Sith action, right? Wrong! Taking a page from roughly half of "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones," "Senate Spy" is all about Ani and Padme in love. How touching. The Jedi Council believes there's a Trade Federation turncoat in the Senate, one Senator Clovis, who has a romantic history with Padme. And so the Jedi Order -- with some help from their favorite rising star, Anakin Skywalker -- attempt to convince the Naboo representative to spy on her colleague and former lover, creating tension in the still-relatively-new Anakin/Padme marriage.

You Can Go About Your Business: "Senate Spy" may very well be the worst episode to air in the series so far. It is a throwaway narrative, »

[Movie Review] New York, I Love You

16 October 2009 4:08 PM, PDT | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

If you've seen Paris, je t'aime, you would know the basic concept of New York, I Love You. Some of the world's celebrated filmmakers create short tales of romance based in a metropolitan city, compiled in an anthology film. The stories stand on their own, but connected together by the common theme of love and the mood of its location.

What's different—and consequently better—about New York, I Love You is that the individual stories are interconnected, to illustrate a web of people that links New Yorkers in unexpected ways. It could be that two strangers hail the same cab, or go to the same Chinese laundromat, or know the same pharmacist. Furthering these links is Emilie Ohana, playing a video artist who circles the city with a video camera and continually runs into the other characters.

Unlike the segmented and showcasey Paris, je t'aime, this film is much more fluid. »

What could possibly have caused the former O.C. starlet to flash us her tongue on the way to a photo shoot at L.A.'s Miauhaus Studios? Is she just as P.O.'d over the balloon boy hoax as we are? Our thoughts: I absolutely love “New York, I Love You,” and I don’t just say that because I love New York as a city.
