What is Clash Of The Titans Without a Muse?

11 hours ago | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

I don’t want to toot my own horn here (who the hell am I kidding), but I have been spouting for years that the British rock band Muse would be the perfect candidate to begin writing scores for movies.  At the very least, and this has been a bone of contention with me for some time, the band should be heavily considered to provide a song for a James Bond entry.  Well, we’re not getting that, but it is looking like Muse will be providing the score for the upcoming Clash Of The Titans remake.

This news was first whispered at back in September, when Muse lead singer Matt Bellamy mentioned on a Kroq show that he would be doing some work on the Louis Leterrier film.  At that time, Bellamy explained his frustration with working for film makers:

They’re difficult to work with…As soon as »

[Exclusive Interview] Nicholas Hoult on A Single Man

6 January 2010 8:47 PM, PST | Atomic Popcorn | See recent Atomic Popcorn news »

A Single Man is simply great; everything most critics are saying is one hundred percent true. It’s nothing short of brilliant. If you happen to also be a fan of Colin Firth and Julianne Moore then it’s definitely a must-see — it ranks among their best works. Another reason to see it: Nicholas Hoult. You’re sure to remember him from the fantastic About A Boy and the highly underrated The Weatherman. Now he’s taken on a completely different role and has struck a cord of pure success. Luckily, I was able to do a quick on-phone interview with Nicholas where we mostly discussed the themes of A Single Man and I even got in a few questions about the upcoming remake of Clash of the Titans. As a forewarning though, this interview is filled with heavy spoilers so I recommend reading it after you’ve seen the film. »

2010 Movie Preview: Part One - From 'The Adjustment Bureau' to 'Iron Man 2'

6 January 2010 12:54 PM, PST | Rope of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news »

I was trying to figure out a way to do a 2010 Preview that wouldn't simply be an overwhelming list of films that you would have to tirelessly slog through day-after-day so I sat down with a list of every single film set to be released in 2010 and trimmed it down to 50 total films. I think this list offers up a good mix of films from a couple of horror films, plenty of drama, some blockbusters and a selection of indies.

As a result some films had to be cut from the proceedings and hopefully some you may not have expected will be introduced. Today I give you the first 24 films of the preview and they are listed in alphabetical order with cast and director information, a look at the synopsis and a quick comment or two from yours truly. Tomorrow I will be here with another 26 (accidentally forgot to add »

New Clash of the Titans Stills

6 January 2010 3:11 AM, PST | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

A trio of new stills have been released for director Louis Leterrier's latest movie, Clash of the Titans, which is a remake of the classic 1982 film of the same name. Included with some previously seen images, Collider offers up new shots of Sam Worthington as Perseus and a behind-the-scenes shot that shows the majestic scale of one of the movie's sets.

Clash of the Titans is slated to open worldwide in just a few months, yet Worthington recently revealed that he was being called back to the set to shoot some additional scenes for it. Worthington said that some "creaky parts" of the film had to be fixed and mentioned that the studio is toying with the idea of converting the film to the 3-D format.

Next Showing: Clash of the Titans opens March 26

New Titan pics

4 January 2010 8:32 PM, PST | JoBlo.com | See recent JoBlo news »

The good folks over at Collider have come upon some new pics from Louis Leterrier's Clash Of The Titans. The new images show some of the massive sets Leterrier and his crew have assembled for the epic Greek mythological remake of the 80s Ray Harryhausen showcase. As has been pointed out, it's one of the elements that's refreshing to see since practical environments still lend that real and tangible quality that's usually missing in today's larger CG-laden films (Avatar excepted). Is 'Avatar' Star Sam Worthington The New Leonardo DiCaprio?

James Cameron made both into billion-dollar movie stars, but can Worthington follow 'Titanic' heavyweight Leo?

By Larry Carroll

At first glance, the pair would seem to be miles apart. Leonardo DiCaprio is arguably the biggest movie star in the world, a three-time Oscar nominee in the prime of his career, a fiercely private all-American actor whose name can get any script the green light. Sam Worthington is an endearingly outspoken British/Australian veteran roughly the same age, positioned as "the next big thing" for some time and only now breaking through with a series of high-profile flicks.

To some, however, history may be repeating itself. A little more than a decade after DiCaprio became a household name with "Titanic," a billion dollars' worth of moviegoers have now seen Worthington's face in "Avatar." With that in mind, here are three reasons »

Votd: 1981 Clash of the Titans Trailer Gets a 2010 Remix

3 January 2010 8:15 PM, PST | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

When Warner Bros released the first trailer for Louis Leterrier's remake of Clash of the Titans, I wasn't the only one not-so-impressed by the speed ramps, fast-cuts and loud music used to promote the fantasy film. /Film reader Lukáš Franta (of gorilla.cz) decided to edit a trailer for the original 1981 film using the soundtrack/score and a similar pacing of the upcoming remake. The resulting trailer mash-up can be viewed after the jump. »

The Five Movies We Can't Wait To See In 2010!

1 January 2010 10:00 AM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Without a doubt, 2009 was a kind year for the moviegoing crowd thanks to a wealth of brilliant blockbusters, smaller slices of science fiction, quietly intense dramas and plenty of other standout stories. But that's all in the past now, boys and girls. 2010 is bound to bring bright film prospects that are at least as cool as 2009's offerings, if not better.

It would take a long, long time to go through every single movie that I'm itching to see, but of the new year's upcoming film slate, these are the five theatrical debuts that I'm most excited for.

The Expendables

Release Date: August 20, 2010
