(S04E12) One of the comic books that I never expected to enjoy is Marvel's X-Factor. It used to be your typical spandex and fists adventure, but then it changed into a noir detective series, with mutants feature much more subdued powers. One of the best of these is Madrox, also known as Multiple Man. Upon impact of any kind, he splits into two beings, and then his doppelgangers retain this ability.
Why am I talking about a comic book character in a review about Heroes? Well, aside from the obvious connection, we got introduced to a new character this week. With Ray Park's Edgar gone from the Sullivan Bros. circus, Samuel turns to another denizen of the big top to step in and be his right-hand man, or right hands.

Old school video game fans are not going to be happy with this! A trailer for the live-action adaptation of the classic Snk 2D fighting game The King of Fighters has surfaced online and it looks as though it’s a serious contender for the worst video game-to-film adaptation ever made.
Starring Sean Faris (Never Back Down), Maggie Q (Live Free or Die Hard), Will Yun Lee (Elektra), and martial arts expert Ray Park (Darth Maul from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace), The King of Fighters is directed by Gordon Chan, who although was behind the terrible Jackie Chan film The Medallion, also made the much loved Jet Li classic Fist of Legend.
The film’s premise is wildly different from the game it’s based upon. According to Movieset:
“The King of Fighters movie will introduce a new science fiction spin into the setting established in the games’ universe »

Hey look, it's another low budget video game adaptation that's got direct-to-dvd written all over it! The King of Fighters is based on a series of fighting games that was first released for the Neo Geo console and in arcades back in the mid-'90s. Since the Neo Geo was the uber-expensive video game system that only rich kids had, I never really got into it, but they're still making new installments today so it's definitely got a following. The movie doesn't seem to be based on the plot of any one particular game, and according to Wikipedia [1], has a sci-fi twist that involves members of three legendary fighting clans who get transported to alternate dimensions where they must fight the inhabitants of each world. This promo trailer, however, doesn't convey much of a plot at all. Gordon Chan (Fist of Legend, The Medallion) is directing the movie, and it »

A sneak peek at the movie adaptation of highly successful video game franchise, "The King of Fighters", has been made available for viewing pleasure through a brand new promo trailer. Debuted on Wednesday, November 25, the clip gives a preview to the normal lives of the characters before they are involved in many fights on the street.
This said "stylish, high-octane, live action" film revolves around the last surviving descendants of three legendary clans who live normal lives until they are called upon another dimension to compete. Using their martial art skills, they have to fight against a road fighter whose his thirst of power threatens the universe.
Coming from acclaimed action director Gordon Chan, "The King of Fighters" features Sean Faris as Kyo Kusanagi, Maggie Q as Mai Shiranui, and Ray Park as Rugal Bernstein. The film still has no exact release date, but it will be premiered some time »

Let this be a lesson to you all. Never write something when you've too much wine with your dinner, as I am about to do. Cause even though I know this next promo we're going to show you is crap I simply lack the discernment qualities to say to myself, 'Andrew, don't do it. You don't have that many friends as it is'!
Those fine lads over at QuiestEarth started it when they found the promo clip for Gordon Chan's upcoming adaptation of the King of Fighters video game. Already packed to the rafters with top talent like Ray Park and Maggie Q I don't see this ending up anywhere except in those wire bins at gas stations. After the wonders that are Dragonball and Street Fighter [poor poor Kristin Kreuk... ahem... cough] don't expect to see this any time soon. Find it the next time your filling up your tank.
I'm not being mean. »

The full Cannes promo (sans behind-the-scenes talking heads) for Gordon Chan's (Painted Skin, The Medallion) adaptation of the popular King of Fighters video game just fell into our laps so we thought we'd share it with y'all.
The film looks pretty fun, but about as good an adaptation as Corey Yuen's D.O.A.: Dead or Alive, which is to say there's not much more than a constant flow of well choreographed fight scenes going on. Some things I like about this trailer are flaming fisticuffs, multiple dimensions and that guy who played Darth Maul, Ray Park.
Synopsis:
The last surviving descendants of three legendary clans are continuously transported to other dimensions to test their martial arts skills against an evil force that seeks to invade and infect the real world.
King of Fighters also stars Maggie Q and Sean Faris and is due sometime in 2010.

The episode was called “Thanksgiving,” and we had something to be thankful for: an episode that didn’t suck! Nothing really made any sense, and if you think that last night was yet another example of the show’s long spiral down the toilet bowl of badness toward the sewers of TV oblivion, I won’t argue with you. But human existence is nasty, brutish, and short, and you could’ve done much worse than spend an hour (only 42 minutes on DVR!) watching Heroes last night. Let’s take a look at the three Thanksgiving dinners that formed the bulk »

I guess the Heroes writers were going for the obvious with this episode title, instead of trying to come up with something more subtle. The November 23rd episode is Thanksgiving-centric and our two main families (the Bennetts and the Petrellis) come together with some big confrontations (for example, the fact that Nathan and Peter now know what their mother did with Nathan's body and Sylar). We've got 5 sneak peeks for you, along with a promo.
Thanksgiving Unites Families Together And Brings New Revelations
H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) hosts an untraditional Thanksgiving dinner. Elsewhere, the Petrelli family gets a surprise guest at their table. Meanwhile, Samuel (Robert Knepper) continues to hold Hiro (Masi Oka) hostage, as Lydia (guest star Dawn Olivieri) goes in search for the truth.
Greg Grunberg, Hayden Panettiere, Adrian Pasdar, Zachary Quinto, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Cristine Rose and Milo Ventimiglia also star. Ashley Crow, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Madeline Zima, »

Let's face it, your the hero of your movie is only as good as your villain is bad. If you've got an amazing, swashbuckling, ass-kicking hero who faces off against someone wimpy, it just feels like you had an amazing appetizer and a lackluster main course. We want villains that we love to hate, not villains that we hate to love, and once we find them, we don't want to let go of them so easily. Just look at how much Darth Vader has dominated the world of villainy. He was in four of the six Star Wars movies, and is still pretty much the poster-boy for awesome villains.
But what about the villains who could have joined him? There's a whole slew of sub-villains who weren't given enough screen time, or were killed off too easily. Villains who deserve to roam the hallowed halls of the bad guys and girls club. »

Wait, you’re telling me that there’s a King Of Fighters movie coming out starring Ray Park and Maggie Q? I’ve no idea how long this has been in development, but I’ll be damned if I’ve heard anything about it until this trailer/interview clip popped up on the internet. The film is directed by Gordon Chan (who we have to thank for The Medallion), and is exactly how you might imagine a hastily made King Of Fighters movie might look like. I can »

Beyond Hollywood has posted the first footage from the live-action adaptation of Snk’s video game series King of Fighters which shows some fighting and stunt scenes and some video interviews with director Gordon Chan (Painted Skin, Fist of Legend, Beast Cops) and actors Maggie Q, Sean Faris, Ray Park (Darth Maul from Star Wars: Episode I) and David Leitch blabbering the usual marketing Bs.
Despite Gordon Chan’s involvement, I don’t have much hope for this films after seeing how Hollywood just can’t get away from goofy leather costumes, CG overkill and Dragonball Evolution when it comes to video game adaptations…

Are we dealing with a “Dragonball” situation here? I don’t know, that’s up to you kids to decide. But here’s your first look at some behind-the-scenes footage from Gordon Chan’s upcoming “King of Fighters” (via YouTube). The movie is based on the popular videogame of the same name, and is headlined by Maggie Q. and Ray Park. It’s apparently about a bunch of people who goes to a parallel dimension where they compete in fighting tournaments and try to take down an evil tyrant played by Ray Park. Or something. I’m not sure how the CIA guy fits in there, though. It’s all very confusing, but then again, it is a movie based on a game, so I don’t suppose people were expecting grand storytelling. If anything, it looks and feels a lot like the “Mortal Kombat” movies, where the storyline is »
