Actor and pop culture icon Mr. T has denied rumors that he’ll have a cameo role in the upcoming film remake of “The A-Team”. Mr. T told Latino Review that he’d been offered a cameo role similar to the ones that former A-Teamers Dwight Schultz and Dirk Bennett will have in the 2010 film, but turned it down. The film is being described by writer Michael Brandt as more in the vein of action films such as “Die Hard” and “The Bourne Identity” rather than the somewhat comedic and schlocky original series. The film, which stars Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Sharlto Copley, and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, is slated for release June 11th, 2010. Stay [...] »

Revelations were found within our Three Musketeers last night. Some good, some bad, and some… well… liberating.
The Set Up
The episode opens during lunch at Norm's Diner, where Owen is bitching about a fundraiser for the local school that their kids attend (I assume). The conversation is quickly turned to who's going, why, and with whom. Joe ponders why didn't Sonia (special guest star Penelope Ann Miller) tell him about the fundraiser, even though he remembers her buying the tickets earlier. Hmmm… Owen (in an attempt at letting Joe off the hook on what could be the equivalent of a high school reunion nightmare) lets slip that Sonia has invited another guy to the fundraiser, which doesn't sit well with Joe. He wants answers, stats, the works on this guy. But Owen doesn't have anything to offer, besides that the guy will be at the thing. Joe still declares he's not going. »

You can't fool us, we know you're excited for "The A-Team." When director Joe Carnahan brings his modern interpretation of the classic '80s action TV series to the big screen next summer, you're going to feel compelled to buy a ticket.
Maybe it's the chance to see that pimped-out supervan of theirs again. Maybe it's the players, a well-cast ensemble that includes Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Faceman, Sharlto Copley as "Howling Mad" Murdock and Ufc champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as B.A. Baracus, the role made famous by Mr. T. Or maybe you're excited at the prospect of seeing some of the old Team assemble for cameos. Well... it's probably best if you temper that excitement a little bit.
We already know that Dwight Schultz, the original Murdock, will appear in the film. We also know (via Cinematical) that Faceman actor Dirk Benedict will show up as well. »

The A-Team movie will see cameos from TV series actors Dwight Schultz (the original "Howling" Mad Murdock) and Dirk Benedict (the original Faceman). However, LatinoReview report that Mr. T will not make an appearance in the movie.
According to the report, the iconic actor was not interested in returning, since he would not be appearing as B.A. Baracus, the role he originated in the TV series (Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will play that role in the movie). He also didn't want the movie to be marketed around his cameo if he wouldn't be playing a major role. Mr. T claims that he has "nothing against the cast" or the big screen adaptation, he just isn't interested in a cameo.
The A-Team will open June 11, 2010, and stars Jackson, along with Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Faceman, and Sharlto Copley as Murdock. Joe Carnahan directs.

Mr T has turned down a cameo in the Joe Carnahan directed rebake of 80s TV favourite The A-Team according to Latino Review, who spoke to the original B.A. Baracus this week.
While rumours of Dwight Schultz and Dirk Benedict appearing in small roles in the new film have been around for a while it seemed somewhat natural that 20th Century Fox would think to approach one of the most iconic actors of the 80s, but it didn’t happen.
Personally I find these cameos a touch distracting and I can imagine nothing worse than Mr T. appearing as a car salesman or desk bound cop in the new film – or even worse as B.A. Baracus Snr… But seriously the man appears not have aged in the last twenty years so they could have cast him instead of Quinton Jackson so kudos to Mr T. for turning down »

Ever since casting for The A-Team wrapped up and shooting began, all of the Internet buzz surrounding the remake is about cameos. In early November word got out that the original .Howling Mad. Murdock, Dwight Schultz, had been keeping an eye on his successor, Sharlto Copley, and will make an appearance in the film. Just two weeks later, Dirk Benedict, the original .Faceman. Peck, was rumored to have a cameo himself. It looks like director Joe Carnahan will have to settle with two of three, because Mr. T has no intentions of being part of the film. While at the gym, Latino Review bumped into Mr. T and spoke with him about the topic. Here.s Lr.s recap of the conversation: He said it wasn't about money, because he turned down the chance to appear in the film before that was even discussed. He said it just wouldn't be »

Are you looking forward to the new, big-screen version of The A-Team? After some initial apprehension about a “remake” of such a classic TV series, I’ve found myself looking forward to it (particularly after hearing about the great casting choices, as well as seeing the first promo image) .
Second question: are you hoping for cameos from the original A-Team members, even though new folks have taken over their roles? Well, if you Are then you’re in luck on at least one front, as we already learned that Dwight Schultz – aka the original Capt. ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock – will be making a cameo. This led to speculation that we’d see both Dirk Benedict (aka the original Faceman) and Mr. T (aka the original B.A. Baracus) also making cameo appearances (sadly George Peppard, the original Hannibal, passed away some 15 years ago).
Well, there’s no word on whether Benedict will appear, »

Ok, so George Peppard is dead, meaning he's out of The A-Team movie update, but Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz have both confirmed their cameos in Joe Carnahan's movie. That leaves only Mr. T. I have long suspected he had more bargaining sway than the other guys and that eventually, T would have his payday. Nope.
Through a strange set of circumstances, George Roush aka El Guapo from Latino Review found out from Mr. T himself the real story. Bumping into the one and only Clubber Lang at a health club, the writer discovered that the original mohawk won't be back, and that it has nothing to do with money. »

As much as we may hate to admit it, the early indications are that The A-Team is moving in the right direction. The casting for at least three of the key roles seems perfect, we know with Joe Carnahan directing it probably won't be as 80s campy, shifting instead to a grittier approach, and the van is back. About the only thing that can screw it up is TV cast member cameos.
Damn it: Dirk Benedict just revealed on Dirk Benedict Central that he will film his role in Vancouver. He follows Dwight Schultz, the original "Howling Mad" Murdock, in announcing his walk-on role. That leaves only World of Warcraft pitchman Mr. T...and I think you know what he'll say. »

It's always sad when when the crew behind the new TV project tries to get the old cast members to make cameos. The whole things seems like a desperate attempt to not only appease a fan base, but also, in some sick way, it feels like the offer is payment for ruining something that people used to enjoy. Unless the desired 70s TV star has been missing and presumed dead for the last 40 years, it's not really that interesting. The most recent project to do this is Joe Carnahan's The A-Team, which, earlier this month, roped in Dwight Schultz, the original "Howling Mad" Murdock. Now they have two out of three. Much like how Schultz's cameo was discovered, the fan club of Dirk Benedict (via Cinematical), who played "Faceman" Peck in the original series, has confirmed that the actor will be making an appearance in the remake. Earlier this month, we learned that Dwight Schultz, the original Howling Mad Murdock, would be making a cameo in the Joe Carnahan's big screen film adaptation of The A-Team. Cinematical now has word that Dirk Benedict, who played Templeton "Faceman" Peck in the original television series, also has a cameo. Mr. T, who many will remember as the original B.A. Baracus, has said publicly that he was offered a cameo but turned it down, explaining "it's insulting me to ask me to be in it [as someone else]. It's just like my ex-girlfriend saying 'Why don't you come out to dinner with my new boyfriend?' You see what I mean? I am not going to do that." »

Still loving this promo shot for the upcoming “The A-Team” film by director Joe Carnahan. Just look how cool they all look! Especially Sharlto Copely. Maybe I’m being a bit biased seeing as District 9is my film of the year but they have completely nailed the casting for this film. The first set of pictures was released months ago with the promo stuff following in October and they did enough to send shock waves throughout the entire A-Team loving community.
The pictures of the main cast looked great and with what I can only assume is more than solid support from Patrick Wilson this is going to be one huge thrill ride.
As if us fans didn’t have enough to look forward too news filtered through a couple of weeks ago that Dwight Schultz, the original Howlin’ Mad Murdock would feature in a cameo. Now it seems he »

Here’s some news which was bound to surface sooner or later. Dirk Benedict has confirmed via DirkBenedictCentral.com that he’ll be appearing in the new The A-Team movie with a cameo part.
As I say, this comes as no surprise to me as anyone who’ll appear in the celebrity version of Big Brother in the UK will surely be part of a big budget movie given half the chance! With Dwight Schultz confirming a couple of weeks ago that he’ll be in the movie, all we need now is the big man, Mr. T to get involved and we have ourselves a movie!
Joe Carnahan is directing the new movie which stars Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck, Liam Neeson as Col John ‘Hannibal’ Smith, Sharlto Copley as Captain ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson as Sgt Bosco ‘B.A.’ Baracus and Jessica Biel as their female sidekick. »

Remember when this kind of thing stayed secret? I'm not losing sleep over the production of The A-Team or anything, but it makes me nostalgic for the days down the long haul and into history back when you didn't know anything about secret cameos until you were in the dark theater. Then you could nudge whoever you were with and say "Oh my gosh! That's Dirk Benedict! Ha ha!" If you had your head bitten off »

We're not sure if such cameos help or hinder these sorts of remakes; god knows the Paul Michael Glaser & David Soul cameos at the end of Todd Phillips' 2004 Starsky & Hutch feature film were a self-serving add-on that would have been best left out altogether.
The A-Team also stars Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel, »

Dwight Schultz is making a cameo appearance in the new 'A-Team' movie.
The actor - who starred as 'Howlin' Mad' Murdoch in the original cult 1980s TV series - has been filming scenes for the big-screen remake and has heaped praise on his successor, Sharito Copley, for his portrayal of the character.
A statement on Dwight's official website said: "We are pleased to inform you all that Dwight has actually already been working in Vancouver, where he has played a cameo role in 'The A-Team movie.
"Sharlto Copley, the South African actor who plays Murdoch, is according to Dwight: 'brilliant beyond words'.
"Dwight has seen his screen test and he stated: that honestly, if Sharlto is given an opportunity to do what I saw in that test, Murdock will be better than ever!'
"Sharlto has been very kind to him on the set and Dwight must say that »
