"The X-Files: I Want to Believe" may have failed to deliver back in 2008, but it looks like the disappointing result doesn't stop filmmakers from planning another "X-Files" movie. According to Croatian website Dnevnik.hr, leading actress Gillian Anderson has addressed the chances of the third "X-Files" being materialized.
In an indirect quote, the site reported that Anderson said the third film is in early stages and should be filmed by 2012. The 41-year-old reportedly suggested the matter to the media and the audience at the last press conference of the 15th Sarajevo Film Festival after revealing that she would love to reprise her role as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully for "X-Files 3".
While none has been confirmed or denied, Bloody-Disgusting (Bd) claimed that "there is in fact talk about doing another" movie. The site went further with its report that there is also "talk of a Reboot". Nonetheless, Bd stressed that »

Today we have a unique collection of tidbits that range from Heroes on NBC, some HBO delving into Sci-Fi and some popular comics coming to television. I’ve also dug up some news on FX’s Damages.
Heroes’ New Cast Member
Ernie Hudson has signed onto the cast of NBC’s Heroes.
He’s joining the cast as a Baltimore detective, Captain Lubbock. What little is known about Hudson’s role is that he’ll be looking for one of the other characters in the show.
Heroes 4th season will be introducing a new mythology about a traveling carnival, whose members have special powers.
This carnival will be run by a character portrayed by Rober Knepper. Oh great, Tea-Bag running a super powered carnival. We’re definitely in trouble.

Longtime The X-Files director/producer Kim Manners has lost his battle with lung cancer. He was 59. Manners passed away on Sunday at the Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles following a long struggle with the deadly disease.
He was best known for his work on sci-fi series The X-Files, for which he won four Emmy Award nominations, and his stint on U.S. TV series Supernatural.
Manners began his career as a director on 1970s show Charlie's Angels. He went on to helm a variety of TV classics including 21 Jump Street and Mission: Impossible, as well as Star Trek: The Next Generation.
X-Files writer Frank Spotnitz has paid tribute to his late colleague, writing on his official web blog: "Kim had a blazing intensity that inspired everyone - writers, producers, actors and crew. As long as he'd been a director, he never lost his passion for his work. Every time he got a script, he gave it his all. He was driven to execute what he saw in his mind's eye in the most powerful and beautiful way he could. Kim was an incredible force of life. It is hard for me to believe or accept that he is gone."
Supernatural creator and executive producer Eric Kripke adds: "Everyone at Supernatural is walking around in a daze, shocked and absolutely devastated. Kim was a brilliant director; more than that, he was a mentor and friend. He was one of the patriarchs of the family, and we miss him desperately. He gave so much to Supernatural, and everything we do on the show, now and forever, is in memory of him." »
