Mini Biography

In late 1990, at the age of 17, Justin Stanley relocated to Los Angeles from his native England, where he gained experience in all aspects of the entertainment industry from the ground up. Starting as a production assistant on low budget movies, to working in development, post production, casting and assisting high profile producers.

Justin then gained writing experience, re-writing low budget movies for various production companies.

Justin's first original screenplay, The Shadow Men, was produced in 1997. It starred Sherilyn Fenn (Twin Peaks) and Academy Award nominees Eric Roberts (Runwaway Train) and Dean Stockwell (Blue Velvet). Produced for just over $2 million, it premiered on HBO, sold in all major overseas territories, and went on to ship over 50,000 units on video cassette, setting a record for the distribution company at the time.

Universal Pictures optioned Justin's horror spec screenplay, Immortals, with David Kirschner & Corey Sienega producing (Frailty, Secondhand Lions, Child's Play Series, Martian Child, Miss Potter).

In 2004 Regency Enterprises optioned the Justin's action/adventure spec script "WitchFinders" for Oscar-winning producers Arnold and Anne Kopelson (Platoon, Seven, Eraser) and producer Marc Sternberg (October Sky, The Girl Next Door).

Recently as a writer, Justin has been busier than ever having just completed the screenplay for The Contractor, a dark comedy to be produced by Marc Frydman (The Contender, TV's Commander in Chief, Flyboys, Resurrecting the Champ) and Jean-Luc De Fanti.

Justin resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two sons.
