An archive of correspondence, photographs and memorabilia that once beloned to silent-screen actress/director Mabel Normand is expected to go on the block at Phillips auction house in London on Thursday, the London Times reported today (Tuesday). The correspondence includs letters to and from such celebrities as Mary Pickford, John Barrymore, Pola Negri and Norma Talmadge, and may counter her frequent portrayal as a dissolute star. The Rev. Stephen Normand, a great nephew who is putting the collection on sale, said that it will show "she was actually a very kind and generous woman." »
