'V' Episode 1.02: 'There Is No Normal Anymore'

10 November 2009 7:11 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Episode Title: "There Is No Normal Anymore"

Written By: Scott Peters & Sam Egan

Synopsis: FBI Agent Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Father Jack Landry (Joel Gretsch) must decide whether or not to hide their knowledge of the Visitors' true intentions — a particularly difficult decision for Erica given the fact that she had to kill former partner Dale (Alan Tudyk), who was secretly a Visitor. Journalist Chad Decker (Scott Wolf) attempts to control the public perception of Visitor spokesperson Anna (Morena Baccarin), while secret Visitor Ryan Nichols (Morris Chestnut) tries to find a way to repair his damaged flesh.

Don't Trust Anyone: Tonight's episode reinforced the theme that everybody is suspect — after all, if you can't trust Alan Tudyk's face, then who can you trust? There are already some suspicious characters in my mind including Agent Malik (Rekha Sharma, one of the elite final five on "Battlestar Galactica") and Father »

Five preview clips from “V’s” Tuesday episode, 1.02, “There is No Normal Anymore”. My favorite clip: Erica stumbling into Father Jack at the FBI, and her priceless quote, “You’re a friggin’ priest???” Love it. Also, Chad the reporter realizes he just sold his soul to the devil, and more alluring V girl action with Laura Vandervoort and Morena Baccarin. Plus, alien wounds are yucky. »

We have posted the photos and the promo video for the November 10 episode of V, but ABC has now released photos and a synopsis for the November 17 episode.  The aliens are invading!  Well, with travel visas.  But that sounds less scary and I was going for the shock factor.

Check out the photo below of Scott Wolf, looking off into the distance.  It's almost like it could be his presidential portrait.

V: Great Debut Ratings But Will They Last? Cancel or Keep It?

4 November 2009 7:09 PM, PST | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

The "visitors" are back -- with a vengeance. ABC's remake of V, the NBC mini-series and show of the same name, kicked off (and kicked butt) last night. The numbers look really good but, most importantly, will they last.

The current incarnation of V begins as spaceships appear in the skies over 29 international cities and a benevolent leader, Anna (Morena Baccarin), tells the people of Earth that they come in peace. Several humans doubt the aliens' sincerity and FBI agent Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell) learns that the aliens have been among us for years, infiltrating governments and businesses. The series also stars Morris Chestnut, Joel Gretsch, Logan Huffman, Lourdes Benedicto, Laura Vandervoort, and Scott Wolf.

The new V pilot has gotten some mixed reviews but any negativity didn't seem to discourage TV viewers from giving the show a try. Last night, the premiere »

TV Review: ABC’s Reboot of ‘V’ Feels Rushed But Promising

3 November 2009 9:46 AM, PST | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – Reboots of classic TV programs have been a tough sell lately as shows like “Bionic Woman” and “Knight Rider” have failed to connect with critics or audiences. The long-in-the-works reboot of “V” feels like a more appropriate and timely attempt to rekindle a dead franchise, as the depressing state of the world seems downright in need of an alien savior. With only one episode available for critics, it’s too soon to tell whether or not “V” will suffer the same fate as its recent remake brethren or if it will rise above and be another feather in the cap of a network that has been creatively rejunevated with shows like “Modern Family” and “FlashForward”. The premiere is deeply flawed but there’s reason to believe “V” could be a hit.

Television Rating: 3.5/5.0

“V” opens with three title cards that read…

“Where were you when JFK was assassinated?”

ABC's Sky-Writing Campaign for 'V'

19 October 2009 9:05 PM, PDT | CinemaSpy | See recent CinemaSpy news »

By now you may have already heard that ABC plans to keep its viewers focused on aliens by directing their eyes skyward—the network is utilizing a skywriting campaign for its V series.

The series, which kicks off on November 3, is an update of the 1980s' miniseries in which massive spaceships simultaneously appear over 29 cities around the world, where the Visitors (or Vs) seemly promote a message of peace. The Vs are generous, offering to share their advanced technology, but eventually turn out to be not quite as advertised.

Twenty-two different skywriting messages will display the big red V in the skies of 15 different major metropolitan cities in the United States. The campaign will run from Oct. 23 through Nov. 3.

The cities in the campaign include New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Seattle, Orlando, Philadelphia, Tempe, Atlanta, Dallas, Austin and Las Vegas.

SyFy’s ‘Riverworld’ Trailer

29 September 2009 4:52 PM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Earlier this week, Rhi Entertainment release a trailer for their new SyFy channel miniseries, Riverworld, staring Tahmoh Penikett (Dollhouse), Laura Vandervoort (Smallville), Mark Deklin (Life on Mars), Peter Wingfield (Highlander) and Alan Cumming (X-Men 2).

Riverworld focuses on a journalist named Matt (Penikett) and his fiancée Jessie (Vandervoort), who were both killed in an explosion, but soon awake to find themselves on some strange planet covered with rivers. The planet is populated by everyone from earth who has died. They soon team up with Mark Twain and other resurrected souls to travel upstream in an attempt to find what who or what is behind this.

This will mark the second time SyFy has attempted to develop a project based on the Riverworld books by Philip José Farmer. In 2003 SyFy (then Sci-Fi) aired a feature-length backdoor series pilot for Riverworld. The airing didn’t garner a large enough audience to continue production on a the series. »

Smallville's new Superman costume unveiled, plus cast updates

8 September 2009 1:14 PM, PDT | The Geek Files | See recent The Geek Files news »

The Geek Files recently posted some fan art offering a glimpse of how the new prototype Superman costume would look in Season 9 of Smallville - and you can see that here.

Well, we now have a look at the real thing, with a set picture included here that shows Tom Welling's young Clark Kent in a black top with a silver S emblem (his Kryptonian family crest) and a black trenchcoat.

Reactions online are mixed to say the least, with some saying it's too much like a Matrix outfit and nothing like Superman and others welcoming the show taking another step on the journey towards turning the character into a fully-fledged costumed superhero.

It's worth noting that there was a version of Superman wearing a similar suit in the comics and also in the Superman: Doomsday animated film, as well as in one story in the 80s series Lois »

You'd think that Clark Kent's hometown was the center of the universe considering all of the super-powered beings that he's run into over the years on Smallville. Clark (Tom Welling) hasn't even become Superman yet and he's already met heroes like Green Arrow (Justin Hartley), Black Canary (Alaina Huffman), Impulse (Kyle Gallner), Aquaman (Alan Ritchson), Supergirl (Laura Vandervoort), Cyborg (Lea Thompson Young), and Martian Manhunter (Phil Morris). And now, two more great heroes are slated to appear -- Zan and Jayna, the Wonder Twins?

The Wonder Twins first appeared on The All-New Super Friends Hour on September 10, 1977. The animated show ran on ABC as a follow-up to 1973's Super Friends. Superman, Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman and Aquaman are regular characters while other heroes like Hawkman, Apache Chief, Green Lantern, and The Flash are rotating guest-stars.
