I've confirmed that Dr. Phil McGraw has announced to his staff that he has signed on for another 3 years in addition to the 2 years still left on his contract. His show is syndicated by CBS TV Distribution and his own Peteski Production. So rest assured those cheatin', lyin', spendin', cryin' couples will get his help. And while I'm on the subject of syndication, the Tribune station group has renewed NBC Universal’s trio of awful talk shows – Maury, Jerry Springer, and Steve Wilkos through the 2011-2012 season. My question is: why? »

Dr. Phil is facing another sexual harassment lawsuit - a second woman has come forward alleging she suffered at the hands of the TV self-help guru.
Shirley Dieu filed suit last week, claiming the U.S. TV personality touched her breast and forced her to stay in his office with a naked man in 2007.
The TV star - full name Phil McGraw - has denied any wrongdoing, but has now been hit with a second suit from a woman who claims she was also forced to share a room with a naked man, according to TMZ.com.
Crystal Matchett filed papers at Los Angeles County Superior Court which claim McGraw forced her to be in the same room with a "completely naked man, who was exposing his entire naked body, genitals and all."
McGraw called Dieu's claims "without merit" but had not commented on the second lawsuit as WENN went to press. »

TV self-help guru Dr. Phil has slammed allegations he groped a woman and held her captive during a therapy session, branding her claims meritless.
Shirley Dieu filed suit on Wednesday, claiming the U.S. TV personality touched her breast and forced her to stay in his office with a naked man in 2007.
Dieu is seeking unspecified damages, but Dr. Phil - full name Phil McGraw - has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.
He claims Dieu is lying because clients are never alone with him in his office.
A representative for Dr. Phil tells TMZ.com, "All of Shirley Rae Dieu's claims are without merit. As with all of the occupants of the Dr. Phil House, Ms. Dieu participated voluntarily, having submitted her personal story with the hope that she could confront, and overcome, her individual issues.
"Dr. Phil is never alone in the House with any of these guests and all of his interactions are captured on video and/or audio tape. All guests are, of course, free to come and go as they please and once Ms. Dieu expressed her discomfort, and producers ascertained there was nothing they could do to help her, they called a car service to return her to her home." »

It has been confirmed that Michael Jackson will be given a special episode on "The Oprah Winfrey Show". Titled "Oprah Remembers Michael Jackson", the episode airing Wednesday, September 16, will blend Oprah Winfrey's 1993 interview with the late King of Pop and her comment about his death.
The 1993 interview was indeed a monumental moment for the show's history because Michael addressed publicly for the first time, the controversy about his skin color. The singer took a stance that the discoloration resulted from a skin disease called vitiligo. At that time and even a couple of years later, the disease was relatively unknown.
Michael also talked about the child abuse that he experienced at the hand of his father, saying later that he often cried from loneliness. The interview was watched by approximately 90 million U.S. viewers.
Before getting into Michael, "The Oprah Winfrey Show" will present Whitney Houston on September 14 and »

Hollywood's richest men have Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to thank.
George Lucas, who earned $170 million in 2008, and his Indy co-producer Steven Spielberg ($150 million), top Forbes' first list of the 15 highest-earning men in entertainment. Their Crystal Skull star Harrison Ford, who reportedly negotiated for a healthy chunk of the film's back-end profits, earned $65 million, which was enough to land him at No. 11 on the list.
TV and movie producers occupied many prominent spots on the list, including Jerry Bruckheimer (No. 3, $100 million), Tyler Perry (No. 6, $75 million), Dick Wolf (No. 7, $75 million) and Simon Cowell (No. 8, $75 million). Musicians Bruce Springsteen (No. 9, $70 million) and Kenny Chesney (No. 12, $65 million), buoyed by tour revenues, made the cut. Seinfeld co-creators Jerry Seinfeld (No. 4, $85 million) and Larry David (No. 15, $55 million) prove that syndication is forever, and that they are still the masters of their financial domain.
Rounding out the list are Oprah protégée Dr. Phil McGraw (No. »

Forbes magazine already revealed that the highest-earning actor between June 2008 and June 2009 is Harrison Ford ($65 million) and the highest-earning actress is Angelina Jolie ($27 million). But half of the top-earning men in Hollywood amounted their fortunes for their production work, not their star quality. And the topping the list is George Lucas with $170 million. But how did Lucas bring in so much cash? Apparently, he was smart enough to hold onto the merchandizing rights to his "Star Wars" characters. He also wrote and produced "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," collecting on a lucrative deal that gave him a significant cut of the film's profits. Others on the list include Jerry Seinfeld, who is still living off the syndication fees, which earned him $85 million during the last year. Check out the full list below. 1. George Lucas ($170 million) 2. Steven Spielberg ($150 million) 3. Jerry Bruckheimer ($100 million) 4. Jerry Seinfeld ($85 million) 5. Dr. Phil McGraw »

Legendary filmmakers George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are the biggest male earners in Hollywood, according to a new study by Forbes magazine.
The pair, who worked together on last year's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, proved that the real money in Tinseltown was to be made from behind the camera.
Star Wars mastermind Lucas was the highest paid man in the industry, pulling in $170 million (£113 million) in the last year, while Spielberg fell just behind in second place with $150 million (£100 million).
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer was in third with an estimated yearly wage of $100 million (£66 million).
Meanwhile, TV comic Jerry Seinfeld is still garnering big bucks from his beloved Seinfeld sitcom - despite the show finishing in 1998, he made $85 million (£56 million) in syndication rights and TV ads.
Oprah Winfrey proved she had the Midas touch once again - her male protegee Dr. Phil McGraw took home $80 million (£53 million) in the last year.
Other big earners include American Idol judge Simon Cowell, TV producer Dick Wolf and filmmaker Tyler Perry. »

'I'm in this other small independent film, called, uhm, Star Trek,' said Eric Bana before the start of his directorial debut (but possibly last foray into directing, see below), Love the Beast, a love story-documentary about his 1974 Ford Xb Falcon Coupe. That, and his mates, says the Australian actor in the film, are the only things that have remained constant on his rise to stardom. Twice he refers to his car as 'the campfire' that brought all of them together and kept everyone out of trouble. The Beast, he explains in his introduction, doesn't have to be the car - just the one thing we come back to. For Bana, this passion eventually takes him to the offices of Dr. Phil McGraw, who patiently explains the Beast's relationship to Bana and what it means for him as a man. Like all good love stories, the film traces the first »
