Struck by recession, the TV world ceased to inflate a full-blown season in 2009. In order to keep the budget slim, many shows reluctantly reduced the number of star appearances and the networks were forced to carefully select those which will gain them profit and ratings. This led to many actor exits as well as mediocre show cancellations. AceShowbiz is taking its readers for a time travel to the year that was particularly hard on entertainment industry, beginning with the first quarter.

What started with a big bang, "Prison Break" had to swallow bitter pill when Fox decided to pull the plug after four years in the running. The series starring Wentworth Miller took a sharp plunge in the transition from third (8.2 million) to fourth (5.3 million) season, which prompted the network to order two additional episodes as a mean of conclusion to the whole drama. "The show is just played out, »

It's a domino effect on "One Tree Hill" next week. Nathan reaches the breaking point with Clay, causing a rift between Haley and Quinn. In the preview, Nathan confronts Clay about the only two things that he wants Clay to do, making sure he plays with the Bob Cat and staying away from Quinn.
Meanwhile, Brooke comes clean with Julian about her worries regarding his growing connection to Alex (guest star Jana Kramer). Skills pursues a new career in L.A. and Millicent's drug problem worsens. "You are a Runner and I am My Father's Son" airs on Monday, November 16 on The CW.
Lee Norris who plays Mouth recently talked about the possibility of old characters coming back for more screen time. "Given how our tagline used to be 'A Tangled Web,' I think you can definitely expect to see a face coming back that's a blast from the past, »

The CW has released an all new promo for the upcoming second episode of their seventh season of "One Tree Hill". Unfortunately, I'll be catching tonight's premiere online as I missed out on it, however, I heard it was exceptionally good considering Chad Michael Murray who plays Lucas Scott and Hilarie Burton who plays Peyton Sawyer are reportedly absent this season. However, James Lafferty became the show's star during the fourth season and has really left the spotlight in my opinion. Originally it was suppose to be Murray's show, but Laffery has long since taken his place. In any case, read on for the promo and be sure to share your thoughts! »

The bad girl is back in town. Next week on "One Tree Hill", Rachel Gatina will mess up somebody's life with her eccentricities. A preview has been released for the episode which is titled "What Are You Willing to Lose" and it also shows the first look of India de Beaufort as Miranda Stone, the new record executive.
Also in the episode, Brooke looks for a model as the new face of Clothes Over Bros. Mia and Haley fall short of selling a million records while Dan finds a confidant in an unlikely person. Nathan deals with being distant from the ones he loves and Clayton reminds him he's in the NBA. And Tree Hill is shaken up again, when death comes on their way.
The seventh season officially kicked off on Monday, September 14. With the departures of Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, the show is taking in new »

You can hear the shrieks around the country: Not only has Robert Buckley joined the cast of One Tree Hill, but the former Lipstick Jungle hunk will be shirtless for many scenes on tonight's season seven premiere.
In a new interview with TV Guide, the actor - who is tasked with helping to replace series stalwarts Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton this year - spoke about his character, Clay.
Here are a couple excerpts from the chat, the first of which focuses on Buckley's sports agent; the second on his topless body.
On Clay: Season 7 starts off with us jumping a year ahead from where we left off in Season 6 [and], since then, Nathan has joined the NBA and has been successful. Clay is his agent and they have also become good friends. So you've got these good buddies, but they also have a business relationship. Clay is responsible for »

With Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) gone, will One Tree Hill ever be the same? Or will it be better than ever? We find out tonight as The CW series returns for its seventh season with the episode called "4:30 a.m. (Apparently They Were Traveling Abroad)," which is some sort of allusion to Waters Roger's song.
But before anything else, let's sum up what happened last time we saw One Tree Hill: After tying the knot and welcoming their baby, Lucas and Peyton decided to leave Tree Hill for good; Brooke (Sophia Bush) made amends with Victoria and put her future with Julian (Austin Nichols) back on track; Nathan was invited to join the Charlotte Bobcats while evil Dan (Paul Johansson) was on his deathbed. And the rest was - more or less - history.

One Tree Hill has never suffered from a lack of pretty faces, and with lead actors Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton gone, a new batch of hotties has been ushered in. Front and center is Robert Buckley, who is mostly known for his shirtless stint on Lipstick Jungle as Kim Raver's boy toy and as JoAnna Garcia's love interest on Privileged. TVGuide.com spoke to Buckley about what it's like playing sports agent Clay, how he and his buddies became completely absorbed in the series, and how he's dealing with the CW show's rabid fan base.
TVGuide.com: Were you familiar with the Tree Hill's storylines when you signed on?
Robert Buckley: I had seen a couple of episodes, but I wasn't a weekly follower. I went in to meet the writers and I asked, "Do you maybe have some DVDs I could watch?" Twenty minutes later, »

Season 7 of One Tree Hill is changing the show yet again, this time by leaping forward 14 months after the end of last season. Another big change is that, in the absence of stars Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, there are new series regulars, including Robert Buckley as Clay, Nathan's agent.
BuddyTV spoke to Buckley about joining the cast, what Clay is really like, and whether he's really as good at picking up women as we all assume he is, given his very impeccable "body" of work, such as roles in Lipstick Jungle and Privileged. »

One Tree Hill.s sixth season is now on DVD, and as this is the last season for show veterans Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, fans will definitely want to add this set to their collections. Season Six opens with a steamy stew of plots and misadventures. Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) proposes to Peyton (Hilarie Burton) and they are about to rush off to Vegas for a wedding. Victoria (Daphne Zuniga) has returned and is trying to take over Brooke.s company, and Brooke (Sophia Bush) is attacked. Love it or hate it, Family Guy displays an uncanny knack of boiling something down to its essence for the sake of a 30 second pop culture gag that have become the show’s staple. So when they condensed bland teen drama One Tree Hill, now in its seventh season as an anchor of the CW Network, into the following exchange: “I’ve got so many problems.” / “Hey, nothing that can’t be fixed by staring at a lake.” You can pretty much fill out the rest yourself. It’s the kind of show that you can break from to spend three months backpacking through Asia, and still manage to get caught up in half an hour upon your return. It’s about decent middle-class Americans in the sleepy town of Tree Hill North Carolina and their daily battle against the worst possible soap opera conventions.

Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton may not be the only stars written off One Tree Hill in the upcoming seventh season. Antwon Tanner, who portrays Antwon "Skills" Taylor, is presently embroiled in a fake ID scam that is likely to bring negative publicity to the CW drama. While there is no official word yet on the 34-year-old actor's fate on One Tree Hill, it might be in the show's best interest to write off his character now that he's likely to end up behind bars. »

Last season's One Tree Hill finale sent long star-crossed Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) off into the sunset after finally getting hitched...and this summer we found out they wouldn't be coming back. Ever. Meanwhile, Brooke (Sophia Bush) seemed to finally find true love with Julian (Austin Nichols) and Nathan (James Lafferty) made the NBA. Which left us wondering: Where the heck do things go from here? Creator-exec producer Mark Schwahn gave us a preview of the new season, which starts Sept. 14 on The CW. (Hint: It involves another jump forward in time. And lots of hot people.) Last season’s finale felt like a series-ender. Did you write it that way, thinking that it might be the end for the show? I knew that some of the cast deals would be up in the air by the time we finished the season. In a way I »

There have been several short "One Tree Hill" promos that start airing on The CW. Teasing on what to expect in the seventh season, the three promos focus on the redemption of Dan, the temptation that comes in between Nathan and Haley, as well as the growing desire between Brooke and Julian.
"One Tree Hill" is occupying a new time slot on Mondays at 8/7c in exchange to "Gossip Girl" that now airs the third season at 9/8c. Both will premiere September 14 with "Hill" set a year after the season 6 finale.
Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton are no longer part of the show. Their absence is filled by a bunch of new faces such as India de Beaufort who plays Peyton's record executive and Robert Buckley who is Nathan's sports agent. In addition, Danneel Harris will be back as Rachel Gatina for at least 7 episodes starting the second one. »

Without Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton), One Tree Hill will never be the same. While that's already a given, there are still some things to look forward to when the revamped series returns on September 14 on The CW. After all, the show is bringing in several pretty faces onboard, including Robert Buckley, Shantel VanSanten, and Jana Kramer, while keeping some of the pillars such as Sophia Bush, James Lafferty, and Bethany Joy Galeotti. And the best thing about the new season: a lot of nakedness! »
