Sony Pictures is producing The Roommate through Screen Gems. Moving forward with a September 17, 2010 release date the film will star Cam Gigandet (Twilight), Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl), Minka Kelly (The Kingdom) and Daneel Harris (One Tree Hill). The Roommate tackles obsession and the difficulties of college life. Have a look at the short synopsis below and two stills from production.

The short synopsis follows:

"The Sonny Mallhi scripted psychological thriller centers on a deranged college freshman who becomes obsessed with her new roommate. Gigandet will play the boyfriend of Meester's character (RealMovie)."
