You can scarcely swing a dead cat lately without hitting some kind of best-of-the-decade list (even though, technically, the first decade of the 21st century doesn't end till next year).
Well, here comes another one. Rather than try to construct another best-shows-of-the-'00s list, though -- something that's already been done here, there and everywhere -- I decided to focus on individual episodes from 2000-09. Are these the flat-out "best" episodes of television over the past 10 years? Probably not. But these are the ones that stick with me, that I can still remember not just for brilliant lines or beautifully constructed plots, but for how I actually felt while watching them. They are, simply, my favorites.
Here's my list, in no particular order. What's yours?
"Final Grades" ("The Wire")
HBO sent critics the entire run of season four of "The Wire" before it premiered in 2006. I had watched the first »

You can send any/all of the above to ausielloscoop@ew.com Question: The latest we've heard about Tony and Ziva on NCIS is Shane Brennan stating that their relationship will remain status quo. Please tell me they're not ending Tiva? —Jamie Ausiello: Strange. That seems to contradict what I'm hearing. According to my hairy NCIS mole, the Jan. 26 episode finds Tony and Ziva hopping a plane to the City of Love. That's right, Tiva takes on Paris! And would you believe the »

A few weeks ago I got to see about twenty minutes from Screen Gems upcoming movie Legion. While I didn’t see enough footage to say if the final film is going to be worth our time, one of the clips they showed us was great, and it just so happens Screen Gems released a clip from the scene today. Since I’d rather not spoil it, hit the jump and check it out. But I will say it involves a grandma named Gladys…
If you enjoy the clip, watch the trailer further down the page as it has a bit more from the scene.
If you’re not familiar with Legion, it’s a supernatural action thriller where an out-of-the-way diner becomes the unlikely battleground for the survival of the human race. When God loses faith in Mankind, he sends his legion of angels to bring on the Apocalypse. »

New Moon and The Blind Side have had a choke-hold on the box office for the last two weeks, and although some big names hit the screen this weekend in new releases, I'm betting vampires and a blonde Sandra Bullock will once again earn 1st and 2nd place when Sunday rolls around. December kicks off with an action-packed heist, a widower traveling the country to connect with his kids, and the remake of a 2004 Danish film. Also hitting theaters in limited release is Jason Reitman's latest buzz-worthy offering:
Armored featuring Matt Dillon and Columbus Short
Brothers starring Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal
Everybody's Fine with Robert De Niro and Kate Beckinsale
Up in the Air (Limited) starring George Clooney and Anna Kendrick New and Expanded Photo Galleries

I’ve not seen or heard anything about this movie before we were given this new trailer today by Sony Pictures. It’s called The Stepfather and looks like it might be a pretty good thriller to end the year with.
The movie stars Dylan Walsh, Sela Ward, Penn Badgley, Adrianne Palicki, Amber Heard, Paige Turco, Braeden LeMasters, Skyler Samuels, Jon Tenney and is directed by Nelson McCormick. It’s scheduled for release 11th December so not too long to wait. Synopsis and trailer are below.
Synopsis: Michael Harding (Penn Badgley) returns home from military school to find his mother (Sela Ward) happily in love and living with her new boyfriend, David (Dylan Walsh). As the two men get to know each other, Michael becomes more and more suspicious of the man who is always there with a helpful hand. Is he really the man of her dreams or could »

If there weren’t enough biblical, end of the world films around at the moment then there is one more that should be top of everybody’s list, and that my friends, is Legion. Starring Paul Bettany, Dennis Quaid, Adrianne Palicki, Lucas Black, Tyrese Gibson and Kevin Durand, Legion is a kick-ass God vs Us film in which mankind’s only hopes rest with the fallen angel Michael. Roughly translated: awesome action with dark, religious undertones – bring me the popcorn!
With the movie’s release drawing ever nearer, a legion (’scuse me) of new images have been released for the film. Check out a handful below, click on them to be taken through to the rest!

Last week I went to Sony Studios for a set visit on Priest. While I’m embargoed from saying anything on that film, while I was there, we were shown around 20 minutes from Screen Gems upcoming Legion, and we were also provided a number of new images from the film.

Shock Till You Drop has just watched 20 minutes of thriller movie "Legion" when visiting the film's set. The site then shared what they have seen from the selected clips, which are believed to highlight some of the main themes of the film as well as to introduce the cast ensemble.
[Spoiler Alert!] The first clip highlights acrhangel Michael, played by Paul Bettany, who smashes onto the Earth's surface, breaks the metal halo around his neck and slices the wings from his back. He loads up on guns and ammo from a nearby shop and takes on two cops who respond to a break-in. The footage is said offering a glimpse of "angelic possession" when one of the officers is shaking until his teeth become pointy and his eyeballs turn black.
The next video features Jeanette Miller's Gladys who enters a small, New Mexico diner and tells Adrianne Palicki's Charlie, who may be pregnant with Christ, »

This week, Shock Till You Drop visited the Sony Pictures lot. Our reason was two-fold. We sat in for a day's-worth of shooting on Priest - an action-horror and sci-fi creation from director Scott Stewart starring Paul Bettany, Karl Urban, Maggie Q, Stephen Moyer and Christopher Plummer. And, we got a chance to watch 20 minutes of Legion , Stewart's apocalyptic thriller, again starring Bettany, not as an ass-kicking man of the cloth but the archangel Michael. It's Michael's mission in the film to protect the unborn child of Adrianne Palicki who might just be the savior of the human race when God decides to send his angels to earth to wipe us clean off of the planet. The 20 minutes shown were selected clips highlighting some of the main themes of the film. They also introduce »

Career-wise, there seems to be no trouble on the horizon for actress Carla Gugino. The actress best known for Robert Rodriguez's Spy Kids films and her role on TV's Entourage has been busy lately working in some of Hollywood's most successful films starting with Rodriguez's Sin City in 2005 and followed by Night at the Museum with Ben Stiller, American Gangster opposite Russell Crow, Righteous Kill with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino and most recently the starring role in Disney's remake Race to Witch Mountain. But it was her role earlier this year as Sally Jupiter in Zach Snyder's brilliant comic book-adapted Watchmen that made her a household name amongst fan-boys and the actress will be collaborating once again with Snyder in his upcoming film Sucker Punch!. However, the she can currently be seen on screen as porn star Elektra Luxx in director Sebastian Gutierrez's new female-ensemble-comedy Women in Trouble, »
