Earlier this week, Icons Of Fright was invited to join in on a series of roundtable interviews for Halloween 2. (Now playing in theaters!) We've decided to pair up the interviews in batches and offer them to you in their entirety. ('Tis the Icons way!) Beware of major spoilers! We've done our best to mark them before you get to them, that way you can come back after you've seen the movie. Keep in mind that several journalists are asking questions here, so Icons is credited when it's us asking. This edition features all the lovely ladies of Halloween 2! Scout Taylor-Compton (Laurie Strode), Danielle Harris (Annie Brackett), Brea Grant (Mya Rockwell) and Sheri Moon Zombie (Deborah Myers). Enjoy!
In the original Halloween series, Jamie Lee got to come back 20 years later. What’s it like for you to come back a few years later?
Our Laurie Strode is definitely different. »

There’s a subtheme running through Halloween II about the exploitation of the Michael Myers name for profit, and Exhibit A is Halloween II itself. The movie that Rob Zombie first said he’d never make, and then got rushed to the screen by Dimension Films when he changed his mind, adds nothing to the mythology established by John Carpenter and Debra Hill in 1978 and embellished by Zombie two years ago, reduces Michael from a malefic All Hallows’ spirit to a lumbering, easily distracted hulk and, most crucially, is almost never scary.
Whether due to the hurried development and production or to rumored behind-the-scenes meddling, Halloween II feels half-hearted and even less thought out. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the numerous scenes in which Michael (Tyler Mane) has visions of his mother Deborah (Sheri Moon Zombie) and his younger self (Chase Wright Vanek, a pallid replacement for the »

tweetmeme_url='http://www.beyondhollywood.com/new-h2-halloween-sequel-pics-break-out-the-nasty/'; tweetmeme_style = 'normal';; Four new pics via Yahoo! Movies that proves Michael Myers ain’t playin’ around in Rob Zombie’s sequel to his reboot of John Carpenter’s “Halloween” franchise. In case you thought “H2″ would be lighter, fluffier, and more family friendly than the last one (though I haven’t a clue why you would think that, what are you, some kind of idiot?), these latest batch of pics from the movie should dispel that notion for good. Malcolm McDowell, Scout Taylor-Compton, Tyler Mane, Daeg Faerch, Bill Fagerbakke, Daniel Roebuck, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Chris Hardwick, Ezra Buzzington, and Jeffrey Daniel Phillips returns to flee the unstoppable killer in the sequel, which opens this Friday. »

A new trailer has popped up online for Rob Zombie's Halloween II which you can view below. This first full-length trailer has some interesting shots of the new look Mike Myers and sort of spoils a couple kills -- though nothing major. What sets it apart from the teaser trailer is the use of the original Halloween music. Amazing the impact a few musical notes can have. The Halloween sequel was once known as H2 but that appears to be all but dropped from Dimension's marketing. Halloween II it is, and August 28 is the two months too early release date. Halloween II stars Scout Taylor-Compton, Tyler Mane, Malcolm McDowell, Daeg Faerch and Danielle Harris. View the high definition version over at Yahoo! Movies. »

While the trailer hit the web just yesterday, writer-director Rob Zombie is continuing his onslaught on his blog by releasing yet another new look at his sequel to his reboot of Halloween. Beyond the break you can get your first ever look at Chase Wright Vanek as the new young Michael Myers in his clown costume in H2 Halloween 2. Rob Zombie has already said that “H2: Halloween” the sequel is all him, and has nothing at all to do with the previous “Halloween” franchise, #2 or otherwise. And in his latest blog, Zombie also defends his reasons for returning to do a sequel after having said over and over that he would never ever do a sequel. According to Zombie, it took him a year and a half, but he realized there were more stories he wanted to tell, and thus, he returned. Plus, two more pics from “H2″, including more Michael Myers in a hoody. The sequel stars Malcolm McDowell, Scout Taylor-Compton, Tyler Mane, Daeg Faerch, Bill Fagerbakke, Daniel Roebuck, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Chris Hardwick, Ezra Buzzington, Jeffrey Daniel Phillips, and is directed by Rob Zombie. IFC Films, which has previously brought the likes of Larry Fessenden’s The Last Winter and Eric Nicholas’ Alone With Her to big and small screens, has announced a full lineup of fright fare for its Festival Direct video-on-demand service. These join such previously announced titles as the very different zombie movies Pontypool and Dead Snow, which hit VOD the same days they open in limited theatrical release (May 29 and June 12 respectively), and such VOD-only offerings as The Objective, Nightmare and Sauna.
Debuting April 8 and available on-demand through July 7 will be Hush (pictured), from British writer/director Mark Tonderai, in which a young couple on a road trip become the prey of a deranged truck driver. Look for a set-visit report on this film in Fango #285, on sale in June.
Following in May are Dark Mirror and Cadaver, part of the IFC Festival Direct Midnight series. Dark Mirror (available May 6-August 4), from director Pablo Proenza, »
