Walt Disney Studios recently released this very cool movie still from the upcoming film “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” by director Jon Turteltaub and starring Nicolas Cage (Ghost Rider 2, Kick-Ass), Jay Baruchel (Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian), Alfred Molina (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) and Monica Bellucci. Disney has revealed the first look at the latest Jerry Bruckheimer action film for the Mouse House, featuring Nic Cage. The film is one we have been covering for awhile now and its called The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Based on the classic Fantasia skit, this modern retelling is directed by veteran director Jon Turtletaub. The movie is slightly different than I anticipated using some really awesome special effects with some really dark tone to it. I thought the movie was going to be a little bit more light-hearted but that is not the case and I am definitely cool with that.

With the trailer already having been released and three new images conjured up, it appears that Disney is beginning a small media blitz for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice during the holidays. Below you can see some of the locations that will probably be familiar to those who have seen the trailer, but their relation to the plot is still kind of unclear. Also included are Nicholas Cage as the scarecrow stand-in Balthazar Blake, the slickly dressed Alfred Molina as Maxim Horvath, and Jay Baruchel as the apprentice Dave Stutler. With Teresa Palmer as the love interest and Monica Bellucci as a sorceress, this film really has something for everybody. The apprenticeship begins July 16th, 2010 (that should be the slogan of the film; someone call Disney). »

Making its way out via Apple, the newly released trailer features Jay Baruchel's Dave Stutler as he is up and down learning the magic tricks. Additionally, the snippet gives a look at a creature which looks like a dragon when it is chasing Dave.

The first trailer for Walt Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice has been released. This is the Jon Turteltaub directed (National Treasure, National Treasure: Book of Secrets) adventure/comedy starring Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer, and Monica Bellucci.
While I’m a big fan of producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s movies that star Nicolas Cage (The Rock, Con Air, Gone in 60 Seconds, National Treasure), the trailer makes me quite nervous. Everything from the music to the not very good CGI left me less than impressed and the film looks like it aims very young. Saying that, if I were a twelve year old and hadn’t seen a lot of movies, maybe this trailer would excite me. Judge for yourself after the jump.

There goes Nicolas Cage again. Just when Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans almost had us convinced that the man hadn't forgotten how to act, and the prospect of him teaching a teen girl to kill in Kick-Ass had us wondering about a Cage resurgence, he goes and does a movie like this. Walt Disney Pictures and Apple have revealed the first trailer for The Sorcerer's Apprentice, from producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director John Turtletaub. The film stars Cage as a real-life sorcerer with some wicked cool powers (as seen in the trailer below) and Knocked Up's Jay Baruchel as his apprentice. Disney have literally just released the brand new (and first) trailer for the Sorcerer’s Apprentice which stars Nicolas Cage, Monica Bellucci, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer and Toby Kebbell.
The live action version is directed by Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure) and is produced by my all time favourite, Jerry Bruckheimer. This trailer looks fantastic with state of the art CGI and I Love the bit where the old car turns into the brand new Mercedes! Could this be a return to form for our dear Mr. Cage?

Disney has debuted the first official trailer for The Sorcerer's Apprentice on Apple. This new action-adventure movie stars Nicolas Cage as the Sorcerer Balthazar Blake, Jay Baruchel as his Apprentice, Monica Bellucci, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer, and Toby Kebbell. The Sorcerer's Apprentice is Disney's other big summer movie in addition to Prince of Persia. I loved Enchanted and I've been crossing my fingers hoping this would have as much Disney magic as that movie did. Our pals over at Fanboyz.net scored some great scans. Jeff tells me they are from the Preview Movie Guide that was given out at Cinemark movie theaters featuring some cool new looks at Disney’s new The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. The film stars Nic Cage, Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer and is directed by Jon Turltetaub.
Based on the poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and later the animated short in Fantasia, Sorcerer’s Apprentice tells the story of a young wizard in training, who causes problems for his master when a spell on a broomstick goes awry. However this re-imagining plans to feature a modern day story with some dark, adventurous elements to it.
