Another Saturday Night Fever coda: The Bee Gees' Robin Gibb died Sunday, his rep said in a statement to E! News. He was 62, and had been battling colon cancer. Maurice Gibb, Robin's twin and bandmate, passed away in 2003. "I think Robin, obviously, took Maurice's death very badly," a manager for the performer told London's Guardian in 2005. It’s safe to say that Miley Cyrus won’t be included in any best-dressed lists for the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, held yesterday in Las Vegas. This “ensemble” consists of teased out hair, a white tuxedo jacket by Jean Paul Gaultier, Jacquie Aiche jewels and Christian Louboutin heels. That’s it. We don’t get it. Did Miley forget to put on any clothes and sleep walk to the awards? Did some well-meaning pal with excellent taste — it is a Gaultier jacket, after all — throw the coat on her to protect Miley’s modesty? Perhaps this was a bet gone horribly wrong with her stylist. We love a good red carpet. This one scored decently, so while we’re not over the moon, we have got a couple of really great looks to show you. The 2012 Billboard Music Awards took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, yesterday, and some very definite best-dressed ensembles led the way. Taylor Swift hardly puts a foot wrong, so her red chiffon and lace Elie Saab gown and poker straight hair was a big winner, as expected. The goddess Alicia Keys is next up looking super sexy in a form-fitting black Azzedine Alaia Couture with Repossi earrings and Brian Atwood heels. Not an inch of skin shown, but she worked it like it’s never been worked before. Take note, ladies!

James Bond fans have been given their first glimpse of the highly anticipated new 007 film, Skyfall - you can watch it above.
The trailer will raise even more questions as to where this takes Bond, as it shows Daniel Craig in an interrogation room, but he's the one fielding the questions from another agent, while M (Judi Dench) and another officer (Ralph Fiennes) observe.
And we hear, enigmatically, that the mention of 'Skyfall' - whatever that is - is what sends Bond out of the room, saying he's "done".
During the clip, we also see 007 stare at a row of coffins with Union Jacks, presumably his lost colleagues, M staring reflectively out over a valley, a fall from a very high building, and 007 with fire behind him, as well as the seductive bulbs of Turkish mosques. It's all very dystopian.

There were several tributes to fallen musical icons on "The 2012 Billboard Music Awards" (Sun., 8 p.m. Et on ABC), including an impromptu moment of silence for Robin Gibb, who passed away the same day as the broadcast. Natasha Bedingfield sang a beautiful tribute to Donna Summer -- at least until the voiceover started talking over her and they cut to commercial in the middle of the song.
Wiz Khalifa gave a shout-out to McA (Adam Yauch) of the Beastie Boys before giving out the award for Best Duo/Group -- it went to Lmfao. Later, the hip-hop pioneer got a full tribute at the hands of Cee Lo Green and Goodie Mob. But the most moving tribute came for one of the greatest vocal artists in the history of popular music.
Whitney Houston posthumously received the Millennium Award. Her daughter Bobbi Kristina and sister-in-law Pat came up to accept on her her behalf. »

The daughter of legendary movie mogul Harry Saltzman insists 007 fans shouldn't be surprised to learn Alfred Hitchcock was considered to direct the first James Bond film - because her dad, his business partner Cubby Broccoli and author Ian Fleming had a series of wacky ideas as they plotted the iconic film projects.
A recently uncovered telegram from Fleming to novelist Eric Ambler in 1959 suggests the writer was considering Hitchcock for the first Bond film, which was initially set to be Thunderball.
Saltzman, Broccoli and the 007 creator eventually settled on Terence Young, who picked Sean Connery to play Bond over Cary Grant - the best man at Saltzman's wedding - and Roger Moore, who eventually took over the role from Connery.
And they decided to make Dr. No the first film. Thunderball became the fourth Bond movie in the series.
Saltzman's daughter Hilary tells WENN, "I've never heard about the telegram before, but Fleming was legendary for floating constant ideas about re casting and possible directors... probably too many.
"Don't forget, he also wanted his next-door neighbour Noel Coward to play the role of Dr. No... and my father contacted Salvador Dali because he wanted him to design the tarot cards for Live and Let Die! They all had wild ideas." »

Chloe Grace Moretz, Bryan Cranston and Chris Colfer were among the celebrities who felt out of this world over the weekend after catching a glimpse of a rare solar eclipse.
Sky watchers in western America and Asia were warned to to protect their eyes as the rare "ring of fire" eclipse crossed their skies on Sunday, and a number of stars took to the Twitter.com pages to discuss the event, in which the moon passes over the sun leaving a golden edge.
Glee's Chris Colfer asked, "Solar eclipse! Solar eclipse! Anyone else watching it through four pairs of sunglasses?" while Breaking Bad star Cranston simply wrote, "What a world."
Sean Astin and Billy Ray Cyrus posted pictures of the natural phenomenon, while Jenna Elfman complained, "Just spent so long trying to figure out how to view the damn solar eclipse w/o (without) going blind, I missed it."
However, not everyone was impressed - Ryan Seacrest was happy to be kept in the dark during the eclipse, tweeting, "Watching TV instead of the eclipse. I like my vision just the way it is, thank u (sic) very much." »
Tea With Gerard Butler Snubbed At Cannes Film Festival Auction

Scottish actor Gerard Butler has been snubbed at a charity auction in Cannes, France, after he offered up a tea date as a prize.
The actor was dragged up onstage at the Carnival in Cannes Gala for Haitian Relief on Friday night by writer/director Paul Haggis, in a bid to drive up the value of a a weekend pass to the 2013 Golden Globe awards in Los Angeles.
Butler was stunned when Haggis insisted the winning bidder would also get a tea date with the Scot - but it appears he won't have to give up his time after all.
The man who paid $125,000 (£78,125) for the package insisted he didn't want the Butler tea date.
Butler laughed off the snub, telling USA Today, "I know the guy that bought it; he didn't need to buy tea with me."
But the actor admits he didn't realise he'd be part of the package when he turned up at the auction: "No one has the ability to make a fool of me like Paul Haggis. He makes me come up and stand on stage. He makes me feel like an idiot.
"I think most of my most humiliating experiences in my whole career have been caused by Paul Haggis. He pimps me out. I put up with it because it's for a good cause."
The auction raised more than $2 million (£1.25 million) for Haitian charities.
It's not the first time Butler has offered up tea at a celebrity auction - Oscar winner Adrien Brody bid $15,000 (£9,400) for the odd item last year at a fundraiser to build a school in Haiti - and he's still waiting for a call from the 300 star.
Brody says, "I attended a charity function for Artists for Peace & Justice and one of the things they were auctioning off was tea with Gerry Butler, which I thought was really interesting, so I thought, 'Why not?' I had the winning bid and I've yet to have tea with Gerry Butler. He has not fulfilled his obligation... I paid thousands and thousands of dollars... It was, like, 15 grand." »

Outrageous funnyman Sacha Baron Cohen is still amazed he was able to smuggle the fake ashes of Kim Jong-il onto the Oscars' red carpet after secret service officials insisted on searching his limousine for firearms.
The Brit arrived at the Academy Awards in character as his bearded The Dictator character General Aladeen after Oscars bosses initially banned him from the prizegiving, fearing he'd "somehow undermine the sanctity" of the ceremony - and plain-clothes FBI agents pounced on him and conducted a search of his person and his vehicle.
He says, "The policemen... surrounded the car and they had, on their clipboards, a picture of me dressed as The Dictator and they said, 'We're gonna have to search your car now... We have reason to believe you're bringing in firearms, which seemed strange.
"But I did have an urn full of sort of fake ashes of the late Kim Jong-Il. Luckily, the policeman was looking for firearms and not an urn full of ashes and so we were able to smuggle ourselves in."

Carey Mulligan has opened up about her grandmother's long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
The British actress, 26, is an ambassador for the Alzheimer's Society, and first became aware of her beloved grandmother's condition when she was a teenager.
She tells the BBC, "When I was about 15 years old, I was studying for my GCSEs (exams) and choosing my A Level (course) subjects. Just small things, she couldn't remember what subjects I was doing for my A Levels. She would go for walks around our house in Buckinghamshire that she had done hundreds of times and she couldn't find her way home, and we would get a phone call. Just simple things... things like that kept coming up.
"Initially there was so much fear and so much sadness about it. It's terribly sad that she doesn't recognise you. I was very, very close to my grandmother growing up."
However, the Drive star reveals her grandmother still has a huge love for music and often responds positively to her favourite bands. She adds, "It's always so wonderful to see a glimpse of her, and have a moment where she responds or where you can see her really at peace or happy." »
