More post apocalyptic goodness in Columbian short Oasis Terminal
17 hours ago
From Columbia, we have a 15 minute Pa short written and directed by Ruben Fernandez. Shot on 16mm, the film has a great realistic and dusty look to it with some decent costume design. We first heard about it over at Opium a few days back, but with the holidays in full swing, only got a chance to watch it now.
Synopsis:
25 years into the future, civilization has been destroyed by nuclear war. Andres, one of the few survivors, searches for a mythical place called The Oasis, the only hope for mankind.
Oasis Terminal stars Andres Sandoval, Ruben Di Pietro, Rey Vazques, Catalina Navas, Julian Caballero
Executive Producers: Veronica Echeverri, Lucrecia Villa.
Watch the short after the break.

Mamoru Oshii developing live action giant robot manga Tetsujin 28
19 hours ago
Mamoru Oshii isn’t wasting any time before starting on his next project. The acclaimed director has announced he’ll start work on a film adaptation of Mitsuteru Yokoyama's “Tetsujin 28-go,” a manga from the late 50’s and early 60’s which was adapted in the late 60’s as the anime “Gigantor.”
This isn’t Oshii’s first go at the material. Earlier this year he directed a stage play which featured an 1,100 pound, 20 foot tall replica of the titular robot (that would have been a site to see!). Oshii’s live-action version of the story is likely to be a spectacle en-par with that stage rendition but I must admit I wouldn’t be adverse to an animated version of the story, especially coming from Oshii.
To confuse matters a tad, there’s a second project on the go based on this manga. T28 is being produced by Hikari Productions and Imagi Entertainment. »
Second teaser for Nolan's Inception
After seeing three different teasers for Christopher Nolan's upcoming Inception, I'm as baffled by the film as I was before seeing any footage from the film.
The film, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Watanabe, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, Tom Berenger, Michael Caine, and Lukas Haas, is said to be a thriller which takes place inside someone's mind and that mind is pretty twisted to be coming up with some of these images. I'm still not sure what to make of this story but I'm more than happy to keep watching these trailers until the movie comes out. At this rate, I doubt anyone will know what the thing's about even after seeing it once never mind trying to piece things together from the bits they're giving us.
Trailer after the break. Also be sure to check out the first teaser and the French trailer. »
