Kingsman: The Golden Circle review: Dir. Matthew Vaughn (2017)

20 September 2017 4:39 AM, PDT

Kingsman The Golden Circle review: Matthew Vaughn aims this A-list heavy action/comedy/adventure at the screen, a sequel to 2015’s runaway success Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Kingsman The Golden Circle review by Paul Heath.

Kingsman The Golden Circle review

There’s an indication as to whether a film will be any good or not, in my own books anyway, that if it features any kind of song written or performed by Elton John, it will be a runaway success; a sure-fire hit, and most of all, an enjoyable journey. With Kingsman: The Golden Circle, the sequel to 2015’s runaway success Kingsman: The Secret Service, Matthew Vaughn and co-writer Jane Goldman have gone a step further and put the rock-god into the film – his first acting role since 1997’s Spiceworld.

This is not to say that Kingsman: The Golden Circle »

Thor Raganok’s Taika Waititi Reportedly In Talks For Akira Remake

20 September 2017 3:38 AM, PDT

With work pretty much done on the forthcoming third movie in the Thor series Thor : Ragnarok, Taika Waititi is reportedly looking at the long-planned Akira remake/ live-action movie that is in active development.

Akira will be a live-action version of anime artist Katsuhiro Otomo’s 6-volume graphic novel, and is being set-up over at Warner Bros. Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way is co-producing the film, according to Deadline, who also spilled some of the plot details for the adaptation.

The story apparently takes place in the rebuilt New Manhattan (as opposed to neo-Tokyo in the source material) where a leader of a biker gang saves his friend from a medical experiment. Presently, there’s nobody attached in the lead role, which could be a high-profile role for an up and coming talent.
