Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Script Is Almost Finished

James Gunn took to social media to announce that he's almost finished with the first draft of the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 script. The second installment of the Guardians franchise came out right before the summer and is the third highest grossing movie of 2017, earning some big-time cash at a relatively quiet year for the box office as a whole. But as far as the McU is concerned, the attention is directed squarely on the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok (which has been compared to Guardians in terms of humor and soundtrack) and the almighty Avengers: Infinity War.

Though Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was recently just released on Blu-ray/DVD, director James Gunn took to Instagram early Friday morning, bedhead and all, to announce that he's just about finished with the first draft of the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 script with 70 pages complete. Gunn had this to say.

The Nightmare on Elm Street franchise has helped launch many a film career in Hollywood, including Johnny Depp, Patricia Arquette, and Kelly Rowland, just to name a few. But none more notorious perhaps than the career of Tom Arnold. Halloween is almost here which means when we had the chance to speak with Tom Arnold about the new horror comedy Dead Ant, we couldn't resist the chance to get in a question about his relationship with MovieWeb's favorite horror movie killer Freddy Krueger.

The 58 year old actor and comedian, who earned an MTV Movie Award for Best Comedic Performance thanks to his supporting role in Arnold Schwarzenegger's True Lies, made his film debut in Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, the supposed finale of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, which arrived in September 1991.

It was the height of tabloid fame for Arnold and his then wife, Roseanne Barr, »

Justice League 2 Script Is Already Being Written

The sequel Justice League 2 is already in development, says actor J.K. Simmons, who portrays Commissioner Gordon in the movie. The first installment has not yet hit theaters and is scheduled to be released on November 17th. The news comes after it was announced that Justice League will have a runtime of 121 minutes, which is a lot shorter than it was rumored to be. Many feared that the movie was going to be close to 3 hours to try and cover the large cast, but those fears can officially now be put to rest.

The original title for the first movie was Justice League Part One and a sequel was to be released in 2019, but those plans slowly started to fade away as the production began to linger on, with reshoots lasting months instead of weeks. It is also rumored that the sequel was pushed back to accommodate the standalone Batman movie, »

Boo 2! a Madea Halloween Kills the Box Office with $21.6M

Over the past few years, the third weekend in October has proven to be the most competitive, for whatever reason. This year, five new movies were ushered into theaters in wide release, one of which didn't make the top 10 (Same Kind of Different As Me in 12th place with $2.6 million), and one of which debuted in the top spot, Tyler Perry's Boo 2! a Madea Halloween. The horror-comedy sequel followed in its predecessor's footsteps as a modest box office hit, taking the top spot with $21.6 million, while the rest of its competitors managed to underperform.

The horror comedy sequel comes almost exactly a year after its predecessor, Boo! A Madea Halloween opened in theaters by taking the top spot at the box office with $28.5 million, in a crowded weekend where it beat three more newcomers, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back ($22.8 million), Ouija: Origin of Evil ($14 million) and Keeping Up With the Joneses »

21 October 2017 1:59 PM, PDT

It's the Halloween season right now, but the Christmas season is right around the corner, which means that the Christmas themed horror movies are on the way. One of them, in particular, looks like it's going to tower over the rest this season and may become a cult Christmas favorite. The Once Upon a Time at Christmas trailer is here and it looks straight up ridiculously awesome. For those who can't wait for the Dceu's Joker and Harley Quinn movie, this may just do the trick to tide you over while celebrating Christmas time murders at the same time.

The story for Once Upon a Time at Christmas takes place in upstate New York during Christmastime and the trailer begins with an innocent make out session that suddenly turns sinister when Mr. and Mrs. Claus show up and burn the two love birds alive. From there on out, it's flashes »

Justice League Is the Shortest Dceu Movie Yet

21 October 2017 1:31 PM, PDT

Dceu and Justice League fans rejoice. It has been confirmed that the runtime for Justice League will clock in at a mere 121 minutes. Many fans have held the fear that the upcoming movie was going to have a ridiculously long runtime (some saying nearly 3-hours) to cram everything in about all of the characters they can, but that, thankfully, will not be the case this time around. The news comes after many news outlets began to report that the movie was going to be nearly 3-hours long, which was proven false by Zack Snyder.

After a long production process, the Dceu's Justice League will hit theaters on November 17th clocking in at a minute over 2 hours. A number of theater chains, including Regal Cinemas, and AMC Theaters, have confirmed the runtime of the movie, making it the shortest movie in the unofficially titled DC Extended Universe thus far. 21 October 2017 12:43 PM, PDT

Josh Brolin has recently opened up about the accident that resulted in the death of stuntwoman, Joi "Sj" Harris on the set of Deadpool 2 in Vancouver, calling it a "freak accident." Filming recently wrapped on the highly anticipated sequel, which has left time for the cast and crew to reflect on the death of Harris over the summer. Harris was performing a stunt for Zazie Beetz's character, Domino, when she crashed into a sidewalk curb and was propelled through a glass window at Shaw Tower. British Columbia's worker's compensation board, WorkSafeBC, described it as a freak accident after a thorough investigation.

Disastrous Geostorm Opening Weekend Won't Cover Cost of Reshoots

21 October 2017 12:32 PM, PDT

Director Dean Devlin's Geostorm is on track for a disastrous opening weekend that won't even cover the cost of the reshoots. "Everyone was warned, but no one listened," says the teenage narrator of Geostorm, a natural-disaster spectacle directed and co-written by Devlin. According to the narrator, by 2019 there had been so many hurricanes, tornadoes, and heat waves that the problem of climate change could no longer be ignored. The solution? A giant weather-controlling framework that encases the Earth like a see-through geodesic dome, which is not the worst movie idea around at this current time, but probably the worst timing for a release.

The movie is pretty much advertised as an excuse to blow things up like a Michael Bay movie, almost like they just gave up about half way through making the movie and decided to ditch the script and focus on the disasters and Gerard Butler trying to hack a computer. »

Avengers 4 Brings Back Surprise Iron Man 3 Character?

21 October 2017 11:16 AM, PDT

The IMDb Twitter account is at it again, this time revealing that a character from Iron Man 3 is coming back for Avengers 4. Avengers 4 is currently in production in Atlanta and now it seems that Ty Simpkins will be back to star in it. The young actor previously played Harley Kenner in Iron Man 3, and according to IMDb, the 16-year-old will be back to reprise the role. Harley was Tony Stark's nosy friend in Iron Man 3, and it's not clear what sort of role he'll play in the story for Avengers 4.

Ty Simpkins' return as Harley Keeners could indicate that the movie will feature banter reminiscent of Iron Man 3, which took a more comedic approach than the first two installments of the series. When Tony and Harley met on screen, they shared a back-and-forth that gave room for Tony to show off his wealth of wit, »

Geostorm Review: 4Dx Is the Only Way You Should See It

21 October 2017 10:58 AM, PDT

Geostorm is not an homage to the 90's Isuzu vehicle. It is the feature film debut from Dean Devlin, the writer and producer of Independence Day. Much like that film and others in his portfolio, it is a big-budget disaster epic with state of the art visual effects. Warner Bros. did not screen Geostorm for critics. But I got a chance to see the movie as a promotional 4Dx experience. This was my first time seeing anything in 4Dx. It's pretty intense, much more immersive and volatile than expected. For this review, I'll recap the film briefly; describe the 4Dx technology, and what it was like to watch a movie in this new format.

Geostorm takes place in the near future. Climate change has subjected the world to devastating meteorological events. Gerard Butler stars as Jake Lawson, a scientist who creates Dutch Boy, a series of interconnected satellites that can control weather. »

International Star Wars 8 Trailer Reveals Who Snoke and Luke Are Talking To?

21 October 2017 10:32 AM, PDT

Just who are Snoke and Luke talking to in the new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi? This footage has been getting picked part ever since it was released a few weeks ago and fans keep trying to poke holes in the misleading edits. Taiwanese subtitles from the latest trailer are the latest piece to get put under the microscope and they point towards some interesting possibilities that many have hypothesized since the release of The Last Jedi trailer. In the trailer, it appears that Snoke is talking to Kylo Ren in the voiceover that plays at the beginning of the trailer, but the some clever Redditors may have found a definitive answer.

According to Redditor Sleeping-Aran, the Taiwanese subtitles could be indicating that Snoke's "when I found you" voiceover isn't directed towards Kylo Ren. It's all in the "you," which is gender specific in Taiwanese. In this case, »

21 October 2017 9:40 AM, PDT

One of the things that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has done so well is evolve. In the course of the last decade, we've been treated to all kinds of different movies within the confines of the McU. Thor: Ragnarok, which is pretty much a buddy cop comedy set in outer space with Hulk and the God of Thunder, is proof that Marvel Studios isn't afraid to take risks and do something fresh. So what about introducing a female Thor into the McU one day? Kevin Feige thinks it's a possibility.

The President of Marvel Studios has been making the press rounds in order to promote Thor: Ragnarok, which is set to hit theaters on November 3. At one point, he was asked about the possibility of a major change up by bringing in a female version of the God of Thunder into the movies eventually. While he makes it pretty clear »

It and Stranger Things Star Fires Agent Accused of Sexual Harassment

21 October 2017 9:20 AM, PDT

The fallout of Harvey Weinstein's years of sexual harassment in Hollywood continues to ripple through the industry. Now, 14-year-old actor Finn Wolfhard, best known for his roles in Netflix's Stranger Things and this year's horror hit It, has fired his agent, Tyler Grasham, and his agency Apa. The departure comes days after sexual abuse allegations were made against Grasham from a former actor turned filmmaker, Blaise Godbe Lipman.

Finn Wolfhard was not himself the subject of any abuse, but the news of Tyler Grasham's sexual misconduct caused the young actor to part ways with Apa, who have placed Grasham on leave following the accusations. "Apa takes these allegations extremely seriously and is investigating this matter," was the the official response from the agency. The firm has enlisted an "independent, neutral investigatory" to look into the claims.

This all started recently when Blaise Godbe Lipman detailed abuse he suffered at the hands of an, »

Will Hulk Ever Get a Standalone Movie in the McU?

21 October 2017 9:03 AM, PDT

Marvel fans are about to get a big dose of The Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok, as he's featured heavily in the new Thor solo adventure. The movie is getting rave reviews so far, and that's in no small part thanks to Mark Ruffalo giving another reportedly solid performance as Marvel's loveable, green rage monster. But that opens up, once again, the question of whether or not we'll ever see a solo Hulk movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Kevin Feige, that door isn't closed. However, it's not something that's happening right now.

The man who makes Marvel Studios run has been making the press rounds for Thor: Ragnarok recently. As has been the case ever since Mark Ruffalo debuted as The Hulk in The Avengers in 2012, he was once again asked about the possibility of a solo Hulk movie. Though he makes it clear that it's not in »

Jenna Jameson Bashes Playboy Over Transgender Playmate

21 October 2017 8:54 AM, PDT

A lot of people were unhappy with Playboy's decision to feature its first ever transgender playmate, but it's former porn star Jenna Jameson who is speaking out against the decision to allow Ines Rau to take center stage as a centerfold. Jenna Jameson, who has posed nude in Playboy several times, issued a brief tweet, which she then defended countless times ever since the announcement was made. She insisted several times that she "loves" her gay and transsexual people, but she doesn't think that a transgender female belongs in the pages of the men's magazine.

It didn't take long after Jenna Jameson's tweet before she started responding to a barrage of messages, with one fan accusing her of "backpedaling" after she stated that she loves her "gay and trans peeps," but she reiterated that she didn't think transgendered women belonged in Playboy, period. She also responded to another fan »

Last Jedi Won't Break Force Awakens Box Office Records

21 October 2017 8:40 AM, PDT

Following the massive success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which are the highest-grossing movies of the past two years, it's practically a sure thing that Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be a massive box office hit. Still, many are wondering if this sequel will have what it takes to break the opening weekend record of $247.9 million, set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but the first box office projections reveal that it will likely fall well short of that mark. With just under two months away before The Last Jedi hits theaters, these projections could surely change, but as of now, box office analysts don't think it can break The Force Awakens' box office record.

These first box office projections indicate that The Last Jedi will take in approximately $215 million in its opening weekend, and $742 million throughout its domestic box office run. »
