“An Unostentatious But Vital Exposition On Idealism” – Subhash K Jha

21 September 2017 1:00 AM, PDT

Newton

Starring Rajkummar RaoAnjali PatilPankaj Tripathi

Directed by Amit R Masurkar

Rating: ****(4 stars)

In Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Satyakam, a film that echoes in unexpected ways in the new Rajkummar Rao experience, when Dharmendra the obstinate idealist, is asked why he stood first class second in his exams he replies, “Because the student who stood first was better than me.”

Newton Kumar exactly that idealist from Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s film grappling with the political irony of a country where a majority is too poor and illiterate to vote. Rajkummar’s Newton is the guy who will shine if not outshine the competition by the strength of his convictions.

This is one more triumphant performance for Rao who has made a  habit of conferring a brilliant narrative to every character he  plays. Really, it’s become a force of habit for this actor.

On the surface not much seems to happen in Newton. »

When Petite Shraddha Kapoor Carried The Well-Built Ankur Bhatia On Her Shoulders

20 September 2017 9:00 PM, PDT

Shraddha Kapoor, who will be next seen playing the intimidating Haseena Aapa in Apoorva Lakhia’s upcoming gangster drama ‘Haseena Parkar’, is blessed with a petite figure, but the actress surprised the film team with her strength while filming a crucial scene involving her reel husband Ankur Bhatia, who plays Ibrahim Parkar.

A source attached to the film unit revealed that while filming Ibrahim’s death sequence, Shraddha was required to carry Bhatia on her shoulders after he gets shot multiple times. Though the team suggested that Shraddha use a body double, she insisted on performing it on her own and managed to carry the tall and well-built Bhatia on her shoulders for the scene. Needless to say, the entire unit was awestruck by her.

Meet Bros are back with a bang in ‘Aa Toh Sahi’ from Judwaa 2

20 September 2017 8:00 PM, PDT

Having given us record breaking hits like ‘Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan’ and ‘Main Tera Boyfriend’, Meet Bros are back with another catchy track titled ‘Aa Toh Sahi’ from Judwaa 2. The song is unlike any of their previous work and has a unique international feel to it!

This foot-tapping number sung by Meet Bros and Neha Kakkar gets Varun, Jacqueline and Taapsee grooving to their music. The video shows the confusion rising between the ladies in identifying Prem and Raja and the song surely adds the fun element to it.

Commenting further on this project, Meet Bros said “This song is very different from what we usually have worked on before. It has all the right ingredients to make it a catchy number right from the start to its end. We had a great time lending our voice for this track and we hope the audience loves it as much as we do. »
