It's Official: Seth Meyers to Host the 2018 Golden Globes

Late Night frontman Seth Meyers has formally closed a deal to host the Golden Globe Awards, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced on Thursday. The 2018 telecast is set for Sunday, Jan. 7 on NBC.

NBC on Thursday released the first extended look at its music-themed midseason drama Rise and it has Friday Night Lights boss Jason Katims’ literal and figurative fingerprints all over it. Created by Katims, Rise tells the story of a high school teacher (How I Met Your Mother‘s Josh Radnor) in a working-class town who “sheds his own self-doubt and takes over the school’s lackluster theater department.”

The streaming service has tapped former SNL castmates Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon to star in a send-up of local TV coverage of holiday parades: The 2018 Rose Parade Hosted by Cord & Tish, with Ferrell and Shannon playing peppy parade hosts Cord Hosenbeck and Tish Cattigan, respectively. The one-off special, produced by Funny or Die, will stream live on Monday, Jan. 1 at 11 am Et/8 am Pt, right alongside the real Rose Parade coverage.
Svu Planning Harvey Weinstein Scandal Episode in Season 19

The headline-ripping continues: An upcoming Law & Order: Svu episode will be based on Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein and the sexual assault allegations made against him.
The fictionalized account will center on rape culture but till transpose the action to the airline industry, EW.com reports. The series’ writers were working on the story when the Weinstein news broke.
The episode is slated to air sometime in 2018.
