Whoa! There’s ‘Serious Talk’ of a ‘Blossom’ Reboot, Joey Lawrence Says (Video)
In the word of Joey Russo, “Whoa.”

Someone dig the flower-bedecked hat out of the closet, because a reboot of the ’90s sitcom “Blossom” could be happening. At least, that’s the word from Joey Lawrence, who played slow-witted but well-coiffed Joey Russo on the series.

Speaking to Steve Harvey on Harvey’s talk show for an episode that aired Monday, Lawrence said that the notion of a “Blossom” reboot has been the subject of “serious talk” lately, and that he and his former costar Mayim Bialik are on board if it approaches the realm of reality.

Seth Rogen To Play Walter Cronkite In David Gordon Green’s ‘Newsflash’

Seth Rogen To Play Walter Cronkite In David Gordon Green’s ‘Newsflash’
You can’t pin down David Gordon Green, who loves to zig and zag between pictures. This year, he released the Boston marathon bombing pic “Stronger,” and he’s following it next year with the “Halloween” rebootquel. True to form, the filmmaker is pivoting yet again, with another project that finds him turning in a different direction.

Deadline reports that Green will direct “Newsflash,” but perhaps the most remarkable thing about the movie is that it will star Seth Rogen as legendary news anchor Walter Cronkite.

Disney/Fox Deal Won’t Lure Hugh Jackman Back To Play Wolverine
By Christmas, it’s expected that Disney will officially announce their acquisition of Fox‘s movie and tv divisions, in a deal that’s reportedly worth north of $70 billion dollars. Fanboys are already starting to dream about the ways in which the X-Men can leap into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, the changed landscape won’t convince Hugh Jackman to return.

The actor hung up the claws as Wolverine — for real, finally — in this year’s gritty, R-rated sendoff, “Logan.” James Mangold‘s film gave Jackman and the character he’s played for years, in multiple films, the farewell they deserved.

Conrad Brooks, Actor in 'Plan 9 From Outer Space' and Other Ed Wood Films, Dies at 86
Conrad Brooks, the actor whose résumé of rotten movies includes Plan 9 From Outer Space and five other collaborations with cult writer-director Ed Wood, has died. He was 86.

Brooks died Wednesday after a series of health problems at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia, family spokesman Edward Hopf told The Hollywood Reporter.

'Coco' Threepeats, 'Disaster Artist' Soars and WB Tops $2 Billion

'Coco' Threepeats, 'Disaster Artist' Soars and WB Tops $2 Billion
Disney and Pixar's Coco topped the weekend box office for the third week in a row. In fact, the only shake-up in the weekend top five compared to the last two weeks is to see A24's The Disaster Artist landing in fourth position as it expanded into 840 theaters this weekend following its strong limited bow last week. As for the weekend's only new wide release, Broad Green's release of Just Getting Started struggled to finish over $3 million, barely eking into the top ten. With an estimated $18.6 million, Disney and Pixar's Coco topped the weekend box office as its domestic gross climbs to $135.5 million domestically. While the film's opening weekend was closer to that of 2000's Tangled, it has since started playing closer to Disney's Moana, which also topped the weekend box office for three straight weeks last year following its Thanksgiving debut prior to ceding the #1 spot to Rogue One.

Female Directors Shut Out of Golden Globes Nominations

Female Directors Shut Out of Golden Globes Nominations
Despite a best picture, comedy or musical nomination for “Lady Bird” and widespread acclaim for its first-time director, Greta Gerwig, the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. stuck with an all-male group for the 2018 best director nominations.

In a year in which Patty Jenkins’ “Wonder Woman” and Dee Rees’ “Mudbound” also received universal praise — and in the case of “Wonder Woman,” massive box office as well, the slight was seen as significant.

Gerwig, who has acted in numerous films, had never directed a feature before “Lady Bird.” She did, however, score a screenplay nom for her original “Lady Bird” script. The Globes combine both adapted and original screenplays into one category.

The push to hire and recognize female directors has intensified in the wake of the Academy’s efforts to improve diversity and the massive sexual harassment scandals that are gripping Hollywood.

Instead, the HFPA nominated Guillermo del Toro, whose “The Shape of Water” had the most noms overall

Where 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' Got Its Name

Judging by the subtitle of Sony’s animated Spider-Man feature, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, it might not just be Miles Morales who’ll be making his big screen debut in the movie. In fact, all manner of Spider-Men (Spider-Mans? Spiders-Man?) could be waiting in the wings.

While the movie teases a meeting between Morales — the Spider-Man in a universe where Peter Parker seemingly died — and Peter Parker, the original Spider-Man, that echoes the plot of the 2012 comic book series Spider-Men, the subtitle points instead to a 2014 storyline that featured spider-inspired heroes from multiple universes, each offering a particular...
