Jolie's Lover Propositioned Her When She Was Married
Angelina Jolie has revealed she bedded a suitor who propositioned while she was married to Billy Bob Thornton. The sexy actress, who is rumored to be dating newly single Brad Pitt, tells style magazine Vanity Fair that she walked away from a dinner date with the Mystery Man after he attempted to woo her - while she was a married woman. But she has since had a secret rendez-vous with her Mr-Right-at-the-wrong-time. She says, "I met a man I never slept with. We had dinner once, and it ended up being, 'Look, I'm married. I can't sleep with you. I can't even finish dinner 'cause it's uncomfortable.' Three years later I called him and asked if he wanted to be lovers, and it was one of these phone calls of just, you know, a single mom sleeping with a baby and just, I'll call a man up and ask if he wants to be my lover. We spent a few dinners kind of discussing the details of how this was going to happen. It was actually fascinating. I even think with that man it took about two months until he looked at me and said, 'Oh, you're really serious, you're OK with this, you're really fine to just have a lover.'"
Diaz Sues Newspaper Over Affair Reports

Hollywood beauty Cameron Diaz is suing Britain's The Sun newspaper after they claimed she was having an affair with her married travel show producer. The Sun reported Thursday Diaz and Shane Nickerson - who produces her MTV show Trippin' - were spotted in a romantic clinch outside a Santa Monica, California studio. Diaz has been in a two-year relationship with singer Justin Timberlake, while Nickerson and his wife Elisa have a baby daughter Lucy. Diaz's lawyers at Schillings said the paper's front page was "falsely alleging that she had embarked upon a secret affair with a married man". A statement from the actress says, "Cameron Diaz has today instructed her solicitors Schillings to issue and serve libel proceedings against the publishers of The Sun newspaper." Diaz Vs The Sun is expected to go to trial in London in October. Meanwhile, Timberlake is suing Sunday tabloid News Of The World - who shares the same parent company News International with The Sun - in an unconnected case. In 2004, the NOTW published an interview with model Lucy Clarkson, who claimed she had sexual intercourse with Timberlake on two occasions, while he was dating Diaz.
J.Lo Sneaks Past PETA
Jennifer Lopez has out-smarted the animal rights protesters hounding her publicity tour for new movie Monster-in-Law, by taping an interview in secret. People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA) activists campaigned at the film's premiere in April and outside her appearances on MTV and David Letterman's TV show earlier this month. And they intended to continue their bitter protest at the use of animal fur in J.Lo's clothing range Sweetface outside the recording of her appearance on Barbara Walters show The View on Friday. Because The View guest host Constance Marie is a PETA supporter, the group decided to tone down their protest by just handing out leaflets outside the New York studio - but were stunned to discover the interview was actually recorded last Tuesday. Peta spokesperson Michael McGraw says, "After the waves of noisy protesters that confronted her at David Letterman, it's no surprise that J.Lo is avoiding any pre-announced live appearances in New York City." Meanwhile, a spokesman for The View insists fears about Peta had nothing to do with the decision to tape the normally-live show.
Allen Hits Out at Hollywood
Woody Allen has slammed the American film industry for letting financiers have too much involvement in the movies they fund. The quirky New York director, whose latest work Match Point was set and shot in London, claims filmmaking in Hollywood is becoming harder to finance - whereas in Britain the process is simpler, as the money men are not so keen to have a say in the end result. He explains to gossip site Pagesix.Com, "I did the film in England because it's increasingly difficult to get financing in the United States. It's become more and more prevalent for studios and financiers to participate in (a) project. They want to have a say in casting and read the script. I can never work like that. I don't let people read scripts. I want the money and to give them the film a few months later, and that's that. In London, that's the way it was. There's no rigmarole from people who want to participate." Match Point, which stars Hollywood beauty Scarlett Johansson, premiered at the current Cannes Film Festival last week.
Pitt Praises Charitable Jolie
Brad Pitt is astonished by the amount of money big-hearted actress Angelina Jolie donates to charity - and is convinced the screen beauty is more interested in helping good causes than making movies. The hunky actor, known for his own generosity after his high profile humanitarian visits to poverty-stricken Africa, has praised his Mr And Mrs Smith co-star's frequent acts of kindness, despite speculation surrounding his relationship with Jolie following his shock split from Jennifer Aniston. He says, "Angelina donates staggering amounts of money. She probably makes money so she can give more away. That seems to be more her concern than films."
Film Icon Deneuve Scorns Nudity in Films

Screen legend Catherine Deneuve has fiercely attacked film-makers who shoot nude scenes. The French actress insists nudity is an unnecessary distraction in movies, and she's urging directors to create more imaginative ways to convey love on the big screen without asking their cast to strip naked. Deneuve also puts her own long-lasting appeal down to her understated sexuality. She moans, "I hate nudity in cinema. It's so crass. For me, the most beautiful love scenes are the ones that leave something to the imagination. Even as a spectator, I find it really hard to watch nude scenes, because I see only the person, not the character. My career has gone on so long, I think, because I have never given anything away."
Lucas: "There Are Two Kinds of 'Star Wars' Fans"

Legendary director George Lucas hit out at critics of his first two Star Wars prequels yesterday - just hours before third prequel Revenge Of The Sith premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. The legendary filmmaker insisted there are plenty of fans who like the first two prequels, The Phantom Menace and Attack Of The Clones, but that most of them are under the age of 25. He added that most people who dislike the two films tend to be fanatics of the original trilogy, released between 1977 and 1983. Speaking at a press conference at the French event, Lucas said, "The older ones (fans) are loyal to the first three films I made, and they are the ones in control of the media. The films that these people don't like - which are the first two prequels - are fanatically adored by the under 25s. They are always at each others throats about it."
Hawn: "I Will Never Marry Russell"

Hollywood veteran Goldie Hawn has laughed off old reports she plans to wed long-term lover Kurt Russell, insisting their relationship is so strong because they are not married. The blonde actress, 59, started dating 54-year-old Russell after meeting on the set of Swing Shift in 1982, following two broken marriages to Gus Trikonis and Bill Hudson. In her autobiography A Lotus Grows In The Mud, Hawn explains, " Swing Shift was a bitter experience, but without it I might never have met Kurt. He is the love of my life and we're now one of Hollywood's longest-established couples. We are often asked why we have never married. I laugh it off and say, 'Been there, done that.' It didn't work for either of us." Russell was previously married to Season Hubley, mother of his son Boston.
Madonna Put Kabbalah Above Cannes

Bosses at France's Cannes Film Festival offered Madonna a place on their panel of judges - but she snubbed their invitation because it clashes with her beloved Kabbalah meetings. The Like A Virgin beauty, who had her documentary rejected for inclusion, disappointed Cannes chief Thierry Fremaux when she insisted she would have to travel back to London twice during the event to fulfill her obligations to the mystical form of Judaism. Fremaux was keen to have the star involved as she "takes the cinema world seriously" and would have added a welcome injection of glamour to the panel. Fremaux says, "We talked about her being on the jury, but her religion meant this could not happen. It is a regret because she has valuable knowledge. She would have to return to London every Saturday, or maybe it was every Friday, so for two days during our festival she would not be here and that could not work."
Nicholson Buys Brando's Home

Screen star Jack Nicholson has bought fellow legend Marlon Brando's old residence in Beverly Hills for the staggering sum of $5.5 million. Nicholson was best friends with Brando, who starred opposite him in 1976 movie The Missouri Breaks, and he was devastated when the 80-year-old movie icon died last June. The pair were neighbors in Los Angeles for more than 30 years, so Nicholson believes he's the ideal person to buy Brando's property, which shares a hill-top with his own home overlooking Los Angeles.
