Synopsis
A double DVD package that collects WAYNE'S WORLD and it's sequel.
WAYNE'S WORLD: In this big screen spin-off of the SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE skit, two small-town cable TV hosts and best friends, Wayne (Mike Myers) and Garth (Dana Carvey), spend their days and nights chasing babes (schwing!) and refusing to budge from their long-haired, head-banging lifestyle. Ably capturing a love of rock music and the goofiness and exuberance of youth, director Penelope Spheeris (THE DECLINE OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION PARTS documentary series) brings a natural sense of fun and abandon to the film. (The car scene featuring Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" alone is a comedy classic.) WAYNE'S WORLD features appearances by Rob Lowe, Chris Farley, rockers Meat Loaf and Alice Cooper, and others.
WAYNE'S WORLD 2: Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar return in this sequel to the 1992 pop-culture time capsule WAYNE'S WORLD. The boys still have their Aurora, Illinois, cable access show, Wayne is still dating Cassandra (Tia Carrere) and Garth has even found love in the form of Honey Hornee (Kim Basinger). After sleazy record producer Bobby Cahn (Christopher Walken) attempts to lure the foxy Cassandra away from Wayne, a stress-induced dream transports Wayne to a meeting in the desert with late Doors vocalist Jim Morrison, where the deceased rock hero convinces Wayne to organize a huge outdoor rock festival in Aurora called "Waynestock." Never one to ignore the commands of a dead rock god, Wayne enlists Garth to help him plan the concert.
