Think of it less of a heralding and more of a fair warning kind of situation: This new movie poster means we're that much closer to The Pink Panther 2.
I'm glad you asked how I feel about it, so here goes: Steve Martin should be unconditionally ashamed. Of course, having made both the Pink Panther remake and Cheaper by the Dozen 2, shame left the Martin household years ago.
This may surprise some of our younger readers, but once - many, many years ago - Steve Martin was a comedian. Comedians, as a general rule, have a policy against lifting other performers' material. This rule doesn't apply to Dane Cook and Carlos Mencia, apparently, but most comics don't steal material. Or they try to avoid it.
Steve Martin, a very wealthy man who used to have a fertile imagination for this sort of thing, took the best-known character of a better

The players: Director: Anthony Leondis, Writers: David Koepp, John Kamps, Cast (Voices): John Cusack, Steve Buscemi, John Cleese, Jay Leno, Jennifer Coolidge
Facts of interest: This is an American-French coproduction.
The plot: Igor (Cusack), the servant of an evil scientist, dreams of creating a monster and win the annual Evil Science Fair.
Our quick thoughts: “Igor” is a film packed with great ideas that are sloppily executed. I know it may be a harsh thing to say, but Anthony Leondis’ big-screen debut falls victim to a disappointing script that clearly undermines an excellent voice cast and a decent animation.

Reviewed by Jenna Busch I have been singing “Tomorrow” from Annie for a few days now. Someone is going to murder me or I’m going to have to smack myself in the head and I blame it all on Igor. Starring John Cusack, Molly Shannon, Sean Hayes (Will and Grace), Eddie Izzard (The Riches) and Jennifer Coolidge (Best In Show), Igor tells the story of the land of Malaria. (That just seems like a bad choice when you’re naming your town.) Malaria used to be lovely and sunny until a cloud covered the land and killed all the crops. The king, (voiced by Jay Leno) convinced the residents that evil was the industry of choice. We’ve got evil scientists, weird experiments and, of course, Igors. We learn that if you’re born with a hump, you must become an Igor, even if you have dreams of grandeur.

Kids are fascinated with monsters and scary stuff, so why aren't there more good kid-friendly horror movies? With the exception of TV, I only found a handful, including such gems as Ernest Scared Stupid (1991), Hocus Pocus (1993) and The Haunted Mansion (2003). On the plus side, there's The Watcher in the Woods (1980), Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983) and The Witches (1990). The problem is pretty obvious: these movies are either too scary or too stupid, and the middle ground is a very thin line. So if nothing else, writer Chris McKenna and director Anthony Leondis, both making their big-screen debut with Igor, have conjured an uneasy way to pull it off, even if the experience will be radically different for both parents and kids.
Igor is set in a perpetually cloudy kingdom where mad scientists compete in the annual "evil science fair." The winner's diabolical creation will be used to blackmail the rest

Featuring the voices of John Cusack, Steve Buscemi, and Eddie Izzard
Directed by Chris McKenna
Rated PG
For years, probably dating back at least as far as the first Toy Story, animated movies have reserved more than a few laughs for the adults forced to see them. Sometimes, the entertainment directed at parents in these cartoons is much better than anything aimed at the kids. Certainly, that’s been the case with three or the past four Pixar titles.
But very few mainstream animated movies are as gleefully adult-oriented as Igor. In the country of Malaria, the King declared many years earlier that the only way for its citizens to maintain a good quality of life was to transform Malaria into the home of evil inventions - be they monsters, machines, or potions - that would frighten the rest of the world into paying the King into not unleashing these horrors on mankind.

The upcoming remake of the classic 1950’s science fiction movie The Day The Earth Stood Still, starring Keanu Reaves, Kathy Bates, Jennifer Connely, Jaden Smith, and John Cleese, has released some new footage, which can be found at io9.com. The seven and a half minutes cover scenes from Klaatu’s (Keanu Reeves) arrival on the planet Earth, some samplings of his strange powers, his interactions with people, and the beginning of the destruction of our planet by mysterious giant “spheres” that appear almost invisible. The original film, released in 1951 and based on a short story by author Harry Bates, tells the tale of a mysterious spacecraft that appears on Earth. It was a metaphor for the ongoing Communist Red [...]

We host 3 new clips and, here's a link for the clip at Yahoo Movies as well for the Weinstein Co's "Igor" featuring the voice talents of John Cusack, Steve Buscemi, John Cleese, Jeremy Piven, Molly Shannon and Sean Hayes. Anthony Leondis makes his big screen directorial debut after a first shot at helming the video released "Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch." He also has a small part in the film as Killiseum Fan #4. Weinstein Co distributes and, while it's highly unlikely this will bring in a ton at the box office, the animation powered by a strong cast should be worth a visit.

Before "Igor" hits the theaters this coming Friday, September 19, three brand new clips from the comedy animation have come out. One of the clips displays Igor in what seems to be a jacuzzi with one of the scientists having a small chat and enjoying a cocktail. The second clip presents Igor being praised as nice guy by Eva, while the last one shows the time Igor tells Eva to be evil and kill a fly. Still, instead of following his instruction, Eva releases the insect.
In the fairytale land of Malaria, Igors have been known to be the foolish and stupid henchmen of scientists assisting the great minds to make their best inventions. But, one particular Igor has a mind of his own. Having a Yes Master's degree and dreaming to be a scientist himself, Igor get his chance when his master kick him out a week before the annual Evil Science Fair.

While it doesn't arrive in theaters until December, Fox feels pretty confident in their The Day the Earth Stood Still remake -- so much so that they aired roughly seven and a half minutes of footage last night during a repeat of the Fringe pilot. Seems a bit odd to show that much footage this far in advance of the film's release date, but apparently Fox wants to build good buzz now ... and, thankfully, it would appear the film warrants it.
The footage (which you can see after the jump) is not comprised of one, long extended scene. Instead, we're taken through a whole bunch of scenes from what would appear to be the first half of the film, with some playing out a bit longer than others. Essentially, The Day the Earth Stood Still tells of an alien visitor (Keanu Reeves) and a giant robot who land on earth

Veteran actress Britt Ekland has dismissed rumours she is dating former Monty Python star John Cleese - insisting the pair is just friends.
The Bond girl was reportedly romancing the newly single Cleese after he was spotted attending her performance at a theatre in Edinburgh, Scotland earlier this month.
They were subsequently photographed enjoying a romantic dinner together after the show - leading to rumours of a new relationship.
But Ekland, who was previously married to the late Peter Sellers, is adamant Cleese is just a close pal.
She says, "John did come to see (my show) Britt on Britt. We went for dinner and had a great time. But it wasn't just me and him - there's no romance on the cards."
Cleese separated from his third wife, Alyce Faye Eichelberger Cleese, in January after 19 years of marriage. They are currently in middle of divorce proceedings.
