In this movie there is a dance scene that is slightly reminiscent of Ingrid Bergman in Cactus Flower! They fool around on a dance floor!!!!! Those Swedish madmames!!! Actually if you look at this movie it's just among others among screwball commedies! The difference is offcourse it has the one and only Greta Garbo, if it was Jean Arthur, Rosalind Russell, it would have sunk into oblivion and maybe turn up from time to time on some classic movie channel. Melvyn Douglas must have been a great foil for the Devine after the success of Ninotchka, apparently they could work together. After this movie Garbo took a pause, actually was in Itally too look at scenes and locations for a new movie for MGM, but was never pleased, so the retirement was never planned actually, it just happened. Those who thought they could get Garbo back on Screen in late 70's and early 80's, what films did they actually think could be drawing audiences??? Playing Rambo's mother?????? WHat roles could there have been??????
