  • Revealing mistakes: The chest x-ray seen as Bergdorf is talking to the doctor is upside-down.

  • Revealing mistakes: After the power has gone out, the MC in one of the casinos tells his orchestra leader to keep playing Auld Lang Syne... on a working PA system.

  • Revealing mistakes: Two wires are visible (presumably to help) when they lift Bergdorf's body out of the coffin to put the money in.

  • Continuity: When the Vegas Casino bosses meet with Duke Santos, the fireplace hearths are glowing before he enters the room, and are dull afterwards.

  • Continuity: When Danny Ocean is showing the other guys the five hotels on the scarf, in the overhead shot he is pointing with his right hand. When it cuts to show him from the front, he is pointing with his left hand.

  • Revealing mistakes: Early on when we first see Beatrice talking to Danny, she takes two drags on an unlit cigarette and (naturally) exhales nothing.

  • Continuity: When Danny kicks the bar manager in the buttocks, it leaves a shoe mark. Later on when the manager is chasing Danny and the others, the shoe mark is no longer visible.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Sam Harmon is singing ‘Ain't That A Kick In The Head’, horns can be heard, but there aren't any horns in the band accompanying him.

  • Continuity: While ten-pin bowling, Josh lights up and starts smoking. When we move to a close up, the cigarette and smoke have disappeared, and the guy next to him has suddenly moved right next to him. When we shoot back, Josh is smoking again and sitting on his own.

  • Factual errors: The men of Ocean's Eleven are supposed to be war buddies from the 82nd Airborne during WWII. However, during WWII the US Army was segregated by race. Josh Howard talks about his experiences during the war while on patrol; since he's black, he would have been assigned to the 555th Parachute Infantry Regiment, which was never sent overseas but instead became smoke jumpers in the Pacific Northwest. Therefore, Josh Howard should never have met the others, at least, not during the war.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Jimmy calls his mother, the voice overheard on her telephone is clearly not that of actor Peter Lawford, who played Jimmy.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: Besides the voice of Jimmy heard over the phone not being that of actor Peter Lawford, most (though not all) of the other voices heard over phones throughout the film clearly are not those of the actors playing the roles on screen.

  • Plot holes: When Roger goes to Tony Bergdorf's old appliance store, the new owner tells him Tony's in San Quentin. Roger asks to use the owner's phone and immediately calls Acebos to give him the news. But as he's overheard on Acebos's phone, Roger tells him that Tony is in prison doing a sentence of "1 to 5". As the store owner hadn't told him that, and he had had no idea Tony was even in prison, there was no way Roger could have known, or told Acebos, what Bergdorf's sentence was.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: The fake voices Danny Ocean uses on the phone with Acebos (first as Jimmy, later as a morgue officer) are obviously dubbed in by actors other than Frank Sinatra, who played Ocean.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Sam first greets Bea, he calls her "Mrs. Oceans". Her last name (and her husband's) is "Ocean" - singular, not plural.

  • Revealing mistakes: In the scene where Danny gives his mistress his room key, in the background a so-called professional roulette dealer tries to spin the ball and fails. He snatches the ball out again and fails again. In a third attempt, he somehow makes the ball go around the rim as it should. The actor playing the dealer has obviously never thrown a roulette ball in his life.

  • Continuity: When Bergdorf is talking to Corneal after seeing the doctor, in the close-up shot of Bergdorf talking through the car window, the car door is locked, but it's unlocked in the wide shot when he opens the door to get in.
