- Continuity: When Pike smashes through the gas station wall after breaking free of the chair, he leaves a cartoon-like silhouette cutout in the wall. but when he gets up and comes back through the same hole, it's now a random, jagged shape.
- Continuity: Jonathan Winters' stunt double is seen with the chair back still attached in a shot following the scene in which Lennie is freed from the chair.
- Errors in geography: When the cars are said to be turning south (right), they actually turn left.
- Crew or equipment visible: The shadow of the camera is clearly seen when Otto drives into the creek.
- Crew or equipment visible: The film crew is reflected in the side of the car when Culpeper leaves the police station.
- Continuity: Benjy's headphones suddenly appear when he is heading to the airport and trying to speak on the radio.
- Revealing mistakes: When Hawthorne starts telling Finch what he thinks of American men, just as he says the words "coronary thrombosis" the mountains visible through the window behind them suddenly jump forward toward the car: obviously a rear-projection shot with the background film looped.
- Continuity: Various characters' positions change on the ladder when the fire escape breaks loose.
- Continuity: Right after the firefighter on rescue ladder yells "One at a time!", the fire escape platform breaks free and Sylvester is clearly seen almost falling off. The next shot shows Sylvester standing in the middle of the crowd on the platform.
- Continuity: In the final scene at the gas station, Pike backs up the truck into the water tower that falls on the bathrooms that were destroyed in an earlier scene.
- Miscellaneous: When Otto Meyer has a blowout you can clearly see the dirt on the blacktop showing that the scene has been done more than once.
- Continuity: Until the ladder truck shows up for the rescue from the fire escape, the crowd is trying to grab the money that was scattering through the air and onto the ground. In all of the subsequent scenes the money is absent and the crowd reacts as if the rain of cash had never happened.
- Revealing mistakes: When the cab driver lands in the arms of a statue, you can see that the hands are rubber.
- Revealing mistakes: When Melville is driving the fork lift into the storeroom, the stunt double is clearly visible driving.
- Continuity: Pike and Sylvester are the last two digging up the money, but some shots of the crowd show Pike standing with them and looking down on himself digging the hole.
- Continuity: As the cabs are chasing Culpeper's car through the city, the same cars (among them a black 1956 Ford convertible and a new white Volkswagen Beetle) keep showing up and getting in the way.
- Continuity: While in the airplane Crump smashes the windshield and other parts of the plane, but when they land, the plane is undamaged.
- Revealing mistakes: After Pike throws Ray and Irwin under the garage door and rolls under it to get them, you can see one of the actors moving to the side of the building to get out of the way of the stuntmen who then are "thrown" through the door.
- Revealing mistakes: In the basement of the store, a line of gunpowder is lit, leading towards a barrel of explosives. In one short shot, the spark is shown with the burnt part of the line extending towards the gunpowder and the unburnt gunpowder is leading towards where the line would have been lit.
- Continuity: When all the people fell off the fire escape, the fire truck ladder hits the electrical wire. In the next shot, the electrical wire is not there.
- Crew or equipment visible: When the migrant couple on their way to California are run off the road, as their truck careens down the side of the steep gully, a safety restraint attached to the rear tow hitch is clearly visible.
- Crew or equipment visible: When everyone is driving away from Smiler's accident, the camera and crew are reflected in the door as Pike gets out of his truck.
- Continuity: During the getaway near the end, the cars have to swerve around a broken-down car in the middle of the road. In the next shot, the car is not there.
- Continuity: When Smiler's car crashes, it breaks through the wooden guardrail and sails off a ramp-like protruding rock escarpment. When the bystanders go down to the crash site, the broken guardrail section has moved 15 yards past the escarpment, allowing the men to descend more easily to Smiler's body. A subsequent shot of the road confirms that the guardrail in front of the escarpment is intact.
- Continuity: When Lenny Pike is sitting in the VW convertible and explains the story of the "BIG W", the passenger's door of the VW is open and it remains open while he gets out of the car and walks around to dispose of the bicycle. When Meyer pulls away, the door is closed, although Meyer never leans over to close the door and no slam is heard (which would have happened if the door closed on its own with the motion of the car)
- Continuity: In the scene at Ray and Irwin's garage where Pike is smashing his fists through the outdoor restroom doors, 4 yellow and blue barrels are seen stacked nearby. But when Pike completely topples over the restrooms a moment later, the top right hand barrel is now orange and black. This "target" barrel, is the only one Pike purposely knocks over as he chases after Ray and Irwin, but it wasn't there before.
- Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When the group is trying to decide how to split the money, Melville says that Ding and Benjy get $97,000. 97 is not a multiple of 14, so they shouldn't get that much. They should get 98,000 because 98 is a multiple of 14, but 97 isn't.
- Revealing mistakes: When Mr. Finch and Hawthorne are driven off the road by Sylvester in his red Dodge convertible, it is clear that the stunt driver is knocked unconscious when the red Dodge comes to a stop at the creek bank.
- Continuity: Although both Emeline's husband Russell and her mother Mrs. Marcus pronounce her name EMMA-LINE, her brother Sylvester pronounces it EMMA-LEEN when talking with his mother on the phone.
- Continuity: Meyer clearly cuts in front of Captain Culpeper's car to drive up the ramp to the park, but when the camera cuts to the front shot of Meyer's car the Captain's black car is no where to be found near the base of the ramp. (It should be in the background on the left-hand side.)
- Continuity: When the characters board the two cabs as they leave the park, Pike is refused entry by Sylvester's cab and then refused entry by the other cab, so he returns to Sylvester's cab and pushes his way into the cab next to Sylvester in the backseat. In the next shot of the cab's interior, Pike is not on the end nor he is he even next to Sylvester - he is the THIRD passenger from the door he entered. (Sylvester is closest to the door, then the Englishman, then Pike.)
- Continuity: As Smiler's car sails off the cliff, it starts to roll to the left. This roll continues in a second shot. However, when the car finally lands, the car is now back to a level position as if the roll never happened.
