There is some natural female nudity. There is one sex scene but it is partly obscured by grass, and focuses primarily on the man's buttocks.
There are scenes of real animal cruelty, the strongest being a scene where a (clearly frightened) monkey is put into a table/vice mechanism and has the top of its head cut off with a sword, revealing its brains. There is a very brief cannibalism scene where a man is seen eating the hand of a woman.
