• All previous UK releases of the film had been cut by the BBFC, ranging from 3 minutes for the cinema version (a scene of a bound woman with a lighted stick of dynamite between her legs) to 28 secs for the 1999 video release, with the latter incurring cuts to a scene of a woman being murdered in her bathtub. The film was finally passed fully uncut by the BBFC for the 2005 Arrow DVD release.
  
  
• This film previously had censorship problems in Australia. In 1976, the uncut version of the film was refused a certificate. Around 2 minutes and 27 seconds of cuts were made before the film was released theatrically. The uncut version was again refused in 1981, but only 40 seconds were removed for a theatrical re-release. The censorship of this film ended in December 2005, when Madman Entertainment were awarded an R18+ certificate for an uncut DVD edition. This DVD was released in February 2006.
