  • Continuity: When Josephson gets on the bus to greet Shockley and Gus at the climax of the film, his glasses disappear and reappear between shots.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Shockley and Gus walk towards the road after the house shoot out, state troopers are seen holding back crowds that have gathered to see what the gun fire was all about.

  • Continuity: At the beginning credits Shockley gets into his car and drives off past a Penney's department store. He then gets on a freeway and drives around town. After he stops and breaks the bottle of whiskey, you can see the same Penney' store behind him.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Shockley tells the remaining bikers to leave a motorcycle for him, he points his revolver at the bikers - but the chambers are obviously empty.

  • Continuity: In the constable's car, there is a can of Tab sitting on the dash with the bar code side visible in all the head on shots. After Shockley and the constable return to the car from making the phone call the can of Tab is turned around to the front; easy to tell because the bar code box is missing and the Tab lettering is larger.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When the helicopter crashes into the power lines, the copter is obviously a shell. The lack of an engine, and the mechanism where it is tied to the power lines is clearly visible.

  • Continuity: When Mally is giving directions to her house, she says, "Six blocks up, turn left, its the second house on the right." But it clearly shows them turning RIGHT and going to the FIRST house on LEFT.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Shockley and Gus are fleeing the black car, the second hole appears in the rear window well before a second shot is heard.

  • Revealing mistakes: When the constable's car swerves wildly and almost goes out of control, the sunglasses case and citation book on the dashboard never move.

  • Continuity: When the constable says that there are about ten miles from the border it is full daylight outside. When they get close to the border it is fully dark.

  • Continuity: When Shockley and Gus leave on the motorcycle, the three bikers he forced to walk are nowhere visible, even though they could not have gotten more than a couple of hundred feet away.

  • Continuity: When Shockley and Gus leave on the motorcycle they go up a slight rise in terrain before turning, but the motorcycle gang had just gone the same way and the terrain was all downhill.

  • Plot holes: Even though the route Shockley and Gus was supposedly cleared of all traffic and pedestrians, people can be seen in parking lots along the route and vehicles can be seen crossing intersections just behind them.

  • Continuity: When the bus approaches Josephson, his car is in the middle of the right lane. When they leave him, the car is almost over the line dividing the lanes.

  • Continuity: Between the time Shockley leaves Gus and the time he arrives at city hall, the amount of blood on his forehead varies considerably.

  • Revealing mistakes: From the outside, the windshield on the driver's side is riddled with bullets but from the inside only one hole is visible although the metal sheeting extends almost the width of that windshield.

  • Revealing mistakes: Although hundreds of shots hit all parts of the bus, the tires do not blow out until the bus starts up the stairs - when no more shots are being fired.

>>> WARNING: Here Be Spoilers <<<

Goofs below here contain information that may give away important plot points. You may not want to read any further if you've not already seen this title.

  • Continuity: SPOILER: The constable's police cruiser is a 1973 Ford Torino sedan. When the constable is murdered, the police cruiser switches to a Gran Torino.

  • Factual errors: SPOILER: In the big final scene, there is no way that police could line up on both sides of the street, and finally surround the bus, and fire over 8,000 shots at the bus and have no stray bullets hit one of the officers.
