What i most remember about this film and has forever stuck in my mind was the chilling ending. This film terrified me when i first watched it. Its a cult classic killer spider movie, rivalling films like Arachnophobia and Tarantula. Being an Arachnophobic you probably wondering why i love this film.... simple it scare the life out of me and makes my skin crawl. That to me has the recipe for a great horror. Shatner is good as the vet with a serious problem in his town, a long way from anything he encountered in Star Trek. Tiffany Bolling is good as the investigator who knows exactly what is killing everything, but will anyone listen...No of course not. I love the way she coos and hold a stray tarantula that crawls into her room while she is having a shower only to freak out later when a whole horde of them attack the motel. Yes there is so hammy acting in it but hey i can bypass that easily. Another thing that was so terrifying about this film was ALL THE SPIDERS WERE REAL. There was no robotic spiders in this film like Arachnophobia, they were all real and thats is what is so creepy about this. When people are covered with them, they ARE really covered with them. Nowadays they use CGI but i feel that it doesn't work as well as the real thing. Apparently a few people were actually bit by the spiders during the making of the movie. Luckily they weren't poisonous but they did have a very nasty bite. Kingdom of the spiders is a film that deserves the remake treatment so it can be seen by a fresh audience as long as they use real spiders i don't see what could go wrong. if you ever get the chance to view this classic, my advice would be plug all the drains, close all the windows, wipe away the cobwebs, check under the chairs, dim all the lights, turn the TV up loud and enjoy. Hey where did that spider come from? *Screams*
