• The film was one of the original UK video nasties (as "Prisoner Of The Cannibal God") on the infamous DPP 74 list. The cinema version was cut to remove all footage of animal violence and the 2001 Vipco DVD (now retitled "Mountain Of The Cannibal God") featured a longer and more complete U.S print although a further 2 minutes 6 secs were cut by the BBFC to remove genuine footage of a snake fighting a bird and a snake killing and eating a live monkey, and a brief shot of a crocodile eating an iguana.
  
  
• The UK version is cut from the longer US version to remove the animal killings. The UK version is cut by 2 minutes 6 secs from the US print and removes all the animal cruelty as well as footage of 'animals being goaded to fight each other'.
  
  
• The U.S Anchor Bay DVD is uncut and includes 4 minutes of previously unseen rape, bestiality and masturbation scenes as added extras. It also restores the explicit castration scene to the movie.
  
  
• The US DVD under the title 'Slave of the Cannibal God' is almost complete. The castration is very slightly cut.
  
  
• The Swedish censors made five cuts; fighting, man being killed by animal trap, woman being murdered, woman being assaulted, man being assaulted. A total of 9 minutes 45 seconds.
