Buxley Hall is a military academy founded by General Buxley about a hundred years ago. Today, it's been beset with financial problems so Buxley descendant and the commandant of Buxley Hall decides that the best way to save it, is to merge with an all-girls school. This doesn't sit well with the General, who as a ghost along with his Sergeant does what they can to get rid of them. Also new to Buxley is Jeremy Ross, an heir to a fortune who is currently in the custody of his uncle. However, his aunt who wants him so that she could gain access to his fortune is doing what she can to do that or get rid of him. The sergeant comes to Jeremy's aid and eventually befriends him. Slight but fun Disney TV movie
13 December 2015 | by (USA) – See all my reviews

When a military academy goes co-ed due to financial difficulties, the ghost of the school's founder doesn't approve. Also, a new cadet at the school is targeted by a scheming aunt after his inheritance. This enjoyable family film originally aired as part of Disney's Wonderful World TV series. If it had been made ten years earlier, it almost certainly would have been released theatrically. Dick O'Neill, Victor French, and Louise Latham are fun as the ghosts. Monte Markham and Renne Jarrett are the respective heads of the boy and girl sides of the school. Ruta Lee and Vito Scotti are the wicked aunt and her husband. All of the adult actors are good but the kids are pretty forgettable, which is unusual for a Disney movie. It's a pleasant way to pass the time but nothing particularly special. Thanks to TCM for showing it otherwise I'd probably never have seen it.
